There are many ways to look at this, but im going to put a situation on it 
If someone killed your MOM and DAD when you were a baby, then when you grown up and find out who did it, would you kill them for revenge?

no, because if I have never met my birth parents, how can you have feelings for them? im not saying I dont care, but I wouldnt kill someone for killing two people I didnt even know

You may not of been attached but, you wouldn't kill the guy who ruined your "normal" childhood, possibly life.
I would wan't to kill the person but I most likely wouldn't.

I'd forget about revenge. It'd make you feel empty, if you killed him/her.
For example:
Syphon: "OMG, I killed him, now I get arrested for 25 years."
And then you would do nothing for 25 years, and then you'd take revenge out on the cops. It's a giant cycle of life.
