go to download.com and download spybot S&D (Search and destroy) and Ad-Aware SE Personal. Those are free and the highest reccomended anti spyware programs out there. For your anti virus i dont know of any free ones, but i suggest you get nortons.

Take a look at BitDefender's scanner, it will help you remove the virus when it can (Only works in IE).

That's probably because you don't know much about Norton AV/IS and alternatives to it. No offense, but if you think making your computer 25% slower and making it less safe than other AV/IS's is good, then something is wrong

If you want a good firewall (which will keep out that spyware) get ZoneAlarm
