Ahhh, I know it's been awhile, but I never really learned anything about these burning trees. Is it anything more than a cloaked burning building behind them?
if im rong plz correct me...
yep thats it
add a burn effect so if a unit is there, they lose hp ^_^
how do you go about making a cloaked building? do you have to have a certain editor or program?
Just to say if you lazy diable doodad state on a bunker make its hp at like 10% make it invincible turn off shared vis for the neutral or comp that owns it and put a tree doodad there at least that wht i would do.
Isnt that tutorial wrong? Its missing a part, you need to make a detector for the player
plus if you set it to 10% i think it will burn down

Preserve the 10% burning effect...
You can set it to 34% and invincy, which is 1% above losing HP from burning.
A burn effect might heal some units
the best is a burning bunker with a firebat inside so it does damage when you walk by.
I'd rather just set a trigger that damages guys as they walk by. I was actually thinking of making this Survival map, and in one part you have to escape a forest fire, in these haunted woods. If you get too close to the trees, you slowly take damage. Plus, with a nasty creature chasing/hunting you, you'll be bolting through there fast.
Hmmm, what happen if you use that units that can be stacked as bunkers. I mean, that 'human stacked units' glitch, do that to the bunkers, and disable them.
Hmmm I know how to disable stuff silly. I did that much and here's the problem. I also disabled a floor hatch (successfully) but the bunkers are ummm... strange. After they're "disabled" I can still see them (ally vis with that play is off and I don't have a detector there) but I can't click on them. Oh yeah I did a preserve trigger on 2% hp, though that shouldn't affect anything. I don't know why disabling the bunkers didn't work this time... Any ideas?
Oh yeah, some of you people act like everyone who asks a question is stupid. Please keep in mind that is not the case. Maybe clearing up the mis-communication will help you help me solve my problem. Thanks.
Yeah, a number of people seem to assume people are dumb for asking a question. What's up with that? People ask a question, help answer it. Don't sit there and mock them. Help them. Arg.

*on topic*
For the buker invisible thingy:
In the editor, place an observer over the bunker and have this trigger:
Conditions
Always
Actions:
Wait 500ms
kill all observer for humans at Cloaked bunker
For the Unit lose health:
have a burrowed unit of an enemy of computer in front of the bunker, have firebats with weak attack in the bunkers. Either the splash or if they are unallied with the humans, youll lose health
I wish everyone just... knew what I knew, then there wouldn't be so much questions.

Bunkers are the same as cloaking any unit. They aren't "weird" at all. That's the NORMAL effect of cloaking something not meant to be cloaked. It does it with the floor hatch as well.

Not if you target the Bunker only... Think before you say

Aight I didn't read all the other posts but here are some good suggestions.
Put pylons or cannons to make blue fire.
Use a creep colony to make the tree bleed, sometimes the colony will make creep, it it's in a good terrain and it will look like the tree is infested.
A Big building will make a big fire.
Add multiple buildings for a Bigger effect.
of course a "heal" from a burning tree could heal a firebat (just to be like in a story, not default) just an idea....
you clould also do duel fires so its blue and red
Lol, to get you on the straight track - some of your ideas are pretty neat, but useless to my game. I was just making a cool menu and credits section of the map... wanted to put in some FX you know? Anyways I fixed the problem... I feel so stupid. And no, you don't need an observer, you need a detector (i.e. a missile turret or Zerg Cerebrate). Anyways, a visioned enabled bunker, combined with neat terrain/doodads can create some really freaking awesome effects. Post screenies of cool (any Special effects) here.
Oh yeah, this is stupid - my PC saves screenies as .PCX files. I can't find stuff to open them with. Do you know how to save screenshots as different file types? Well, if any of you can look at .PCX files, here they are.
