Story behind this:

A few months ago there was that night. I was on Battle.net and joined a game called Income Defense.

At the first moment I was a little confused as I built bunkers but they didn't seem to fire at all. Then I found out that you can choose from alot of bunker setups and I was pretty impressed.

Then I played that map with those guys for like 1 hour (with wins and losses and remakes).

But soon they left and went to bed and I was like no, I can't stop playing this right now. nono.gif

So I opened and played the game for another few hours experiencing one of the best maps (imho) I've played so far.


After alot of plays in a row I had an idea lightbulb.gif

I was so excited about it w00t.gif

That's where I decided. Dude if you have time soon you need to learn ums mapping or you're completely wasted with a possibly good idea.

I searched the Internet and soon found SEN. But back then I had no time so I said to myself just wait for the right moment.

Well actually I'm here and I did some tutorials and testmaps and I decided to contact Oo.Vic.oO to ask him if I could possibly change his map.

He was very cool and sayd do what you want if you give proper credit. So, well I was like uberwoot.gif right there.

The idea:

It's so simple but yet it wasn't too easy to make for me because I'm actually new to mapping.

It's about adding another line of units you can choose from that's all what it's about but back then when I played that much I thought this could probably improve the game alot. (No, not that it's bad it's awesome already).


The making:

Once Oo.Vic.oO gave his yeah why not. I started doing it and I didn't stop mapping for like 12 hours. I triggered around alot and added some space for the new row of units. That's pretty much it but I'm a slow mapper actually that's why it took me around 12 hours.

Well, I learned alot doing this.


So what more could I tell you? Try it out if you got some time.

Good idea, I hated how all games I played ended in ties due to how people would get 255 ups and all 100 bunkers and massing a million $100,000 zerglings would barely make it out of the spawn box. This pist me off! Hopefully you made it so this wont be the end process here, just post-pown it to the last level of what you made. But good job

I've tested it on Battle.net now and I fixed and changed a few things to v1.0.

Um I really have no idea what to do in this map I try to get units but it ever creates them.

Click on the unit and see how much it will cost. Then check your minerals and tell me if you always picked the expensive ones first. ermm.gif

Im not sure whether it is supposed to be like this, but when i played it, I started out with only 1 upgrade.
Thats means i do 2 damage, or 1 vs one armor.
We lost many lives marines because we could only do 1 damage to it...

Lol take no complaints from people who have only played one time, with the new patch my friends and I had no playable income defese. Thank you for making it playable again!

However I have played this map many many times and there is some things that need changing.
~ Ghosts have the same dmg as marines?? They need +2 for ups myb?
~ $500k lings are too easy to kill! they need more hp or more armor.
~ If there is a leftover unit make it a boss that costs like 1 mill or more so if the game gets to the point where no one wins you can deduct a life.
~You made the game less dependant on income for the beginning.. I 2v1 and win ezzily b/c the extra kills in the beginning.
~When you call it choice, it makes people think you choose between sending things/defending which its not, although that could be a cool feature...

Complaits made I'd like to help with anything on this map to make it better, I'm Tornac@useast drop by Op Vroengard sumtime n we can play Income Def. smile.gif

good map, my only issues ahve been that medics are way to tough, and at the beginning ppl can easily kill u by medic rushing--as in buying as many medics as possible so that ur flooded with them--and because the medics have +1 armor and we do so little dmg, you really cant kill any of them. Medics need much less life imo.

Also, ghosts are useless they need double what marines get for ups, otherwise they're of no use.

Aside from that, my only issue is the map maxing still, which I guess u cant really fix other than making it so ppl can get even less bunkers.

Takin 12 hours to make room for another row of units and naming them and just copying triggers and switching around the units is a long time....it should not of taken near that long. Unless of course you were counting break time which according to your desc...you were not. A good idea to me is not "adding units" because anyone can do that. Become original and add that to the map...but I see that you are fairly new so I will have to see!

I remember when I made my first map, it took like 12 hours, and it should have taken like 30, cause I didn't see the copy/paste buttons and I did every trigger every time tongue.gif . I don't understand the plot of the map, but I'll try it out. smile.gif
