I'm currently trying to make a Battlecruiser ferry units around and have them attack while inside. Being a good little member, I searched around the forum first, and noticed that DoA figured out a way to make Supply Depots act like Bunkers, but couldn't get the offsets right. I've got the Battlecruisers loading just fine, and I'm not too worried about the offsets that'll appear on the 'Cruiser. I'll give a list of what I've changed:
-Changed Battlecruiser units.dat orders to Bunker orders (except for right-click, which is standard right-click.)
-Changed Battlecruiser Units.dat "basic" to provide 8 space.
-Changed Battlecruiser buttons in Memgraft to allow loading/unloading.
I think that's all I've changed, and it seems like there's something minor yet important that I'm missing. I think this would be neat if it worked for any transport and want to at least make it work for this one. Any clue what's wrong?
The attack in transport is hardcoded into the bunker, so you'd have to do some heavy exe editing to fix it.
Just so you know, if you make bunkers move the units will still think they're at the original spot,
and will continue to attack where it moved from, so this might cause problems with your idea.
Ugh. That kind of stinks. Well, it might have worked with buildings. Unfortunately, Battlecruisers are not buildings. I'd like to figure out how to do it with Command Centers or such, though.
Not really. Try giving it a proper .lo? file, changing the idle to bunker guard and enabling the building flag. That should make it work like a bunker....I think. I've done it for a supply depot once.
