And I guess I mean global moderators too.

JuiceBug you're about to get banned yourself for other reasons. I think people are only banned for a few months.. your friend will have to wait. Assuming I'm not just pulling facts out of a hat.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JuiceBug on 2006-08-02 at 18:34:54
Nope. Permanently banned, and i think my "situation" has nothing to do with this, sorry if i offended you though, but i had no idea i was about to get banned.

ADDITION:
They just want to get on here to be able to host map showcases and host maps on here

Read the FAQ. You can get yourself warned for this. If you read the FAQ, the person banned was banned FOR A REASON, will be continue to be banned. And note: permnanent means PERMNANENT, as in it won't change.

If your "friend" is Shocko, please tell him to stop harrassing SEN members. He has been suspended for 7 days and will be able to visit the site after that.

If not, then I apologize.

actually he got hacked... thats why moose had something in the news thread

Yeah, but his account has been suspended for 7 days (according to his warn log).

And JuiceBug, it would really help if you told us who your "friend" was, so that the admins could know:

a) Who it is, incase an admin decides to unban them.
b) Why they were banned in the first place.

If you don't feel comfortable telling all of SEN the person's identity, then PM Moose.

How come your always picking fights with other members, if it were me I'd find that very offensive and none of your business.

You'll get used to it after a while. Back when he was in (U), his antics would piss a lot of people off, but you end up getting used to it after a while.

As for the topic at hand, you're basically only writing this to Moose seeing as how IP (the only other admin) is a ghost that rarely haunts SEN. A PM would have been best (and more formal) to get the point across.

And for future reference, someone could disappear for years and return as the exact same person. Time doesn't always change people as you suggest in the first post.

Are they IP banned? or their name just banned, If they are IP Banned they could come to your house or any other place with internet and sign on, possible make a new name and ask themselves. Maybe have a lot of things against them, like negative posts or negative minerals and un able to get regular or elite status. This is all in the Fact and Regulation threads.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by xMCx on 2006-08-02 at 21:25:16
The administration normally doesn't change their minds unless you give them some good evidence to why they should.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cloud on 2006-08-02 at 21:28:22
Ya administration is abit hard-headed like that. They should lighten up abit, like I have a warn here thats almost a year old and its for a oversized sig that was JUST over the line's...Does that honestly need to be delt with? I mean it was still on the line and its just a sig.

Note to Moderation teams : Stop being so hard-headed about the rules of sen. Actually some rules are kinda childish in their own right.

Also if I get warned for that god help me I just proved my point.

Which rules exactly are childish? If anythnig the moderation is too easy.

Here's an example.

By participating on this website, you acknowledge that you possess a working, functional brain, will make use of it, and are capable of playing nice in the sandbox with the other kids. You will be expected to respond to logic.

As I recall yes we all have brains but some of us are younger and have less devoloped brains and tend to act more immature. Go figure. And I just love how you guys use the no swearing excuse as because there are "8-year-olds" on the site. Have I proved my point yet?

We say no swearing because there's a small minority of people that suffer diarhea of the mouth.

No, Desparado (Schmidley) was.

I think the rules are fine. We have censoring filters because its supposed to welcome people of all ages. I know I swore a lot when I was like 10, but at least the filters make it seem like SEN is trying to be clean. And are they really that big of an issue. Do you really have to say "sh!t" instead of "crap?"

And usually they're from the younger members. The younger people in society take after the "big stars" and they have been swearing like mad(rap artists basically which the majority listen to and thier little bros hear it etc.)

Being immature is a not an uncurable condition. Believe it or not, it is possible to become mature without being 25. Now swearing excuse? There is no reason to use profanity. If you find yourself so unrestrained that you cannot pass a few minutes on a website without swearing, perhaps you should rethink your life.

No "decision" will be made about anything unless given member's name and reason for being banned is given, and why he deserves to be let back.

I did NOT say I was supporting swearing and I am NOT supporting it I just think it's ironic that those 2 "rules" counter-act each other.

Right well I'm obviously not included in that since I've hardly ever got breaks for anything I've done. Look at my warn log, my first 4 things on it I got a "warn level added" and then Syphon was actually nice enough to just take out posts instead which I actually apresiate since I sorted it out with him.

I fail to see how a "be mature" and a "don't swear" rule contradict eachother.
