As a RPG Maker, i need to read some opinions bout what you think.

Which style you like the most? Hero based RPG's, usually with many cutscenes and such, and that most likely it will require full house to be played, for the reason that most of these are made for 2-3 players, some of 4.

Or the Classic Weapon/Class RPG, pick a weapon or class and go! kill kill kill, but few cutscenes, most likely able to be played alone or 1-5, i need opinions for future projects, thank you.

I like.... The 1 & 2

1- It's really cool to explore a whole world with 2 or 3 other friend. Following a good story... With some puzzle and fight too. Leveling system... Special effect or spell

2- Sometime we want to be alone. So single map is really cool too!

As much as I appreciate lots of well-triggered cutscenes, I'm usually in the mood for a hack 'n' slasher. Not many of those out there, these days.

Why not combine the two? You can kill stuff and play with only one person, don't know why you that wouldn't be allowed, and there's a good storyline with cutscenes.

Not many hack 'n' slashers out there these days? Are you crazy? I can't remember the last time I saw an RPG that wasn't just hack 'n' slash.

Anyways, I prefer a mix between the two. I also hate games that require a full house. With games like that, when someone lags out, backstabs, or is just an censored.gif , it ruins the game and everyone has to rm. Adjust the difficulty with the number of players, so that it can't be ruined by a couple of jerks or a faulty internet connection.

Well, usually Hero Based require F/H due to all chars have a role in the story, unless you don't care that u get transmission or text from an unit that doesn't exists due to the missing char, also cuz some places will require that char to proceed, but Hero Based Rpg's are usually have hack n' slash too, just with requeriments of full house and that if a char dies, everyone loses, but 100% hack 'n slash game is like, fend for yourself, and help others if you want, but its not a must, like in hero based.

And bout a map with language selection, well, that can be done if the map doesn't uses too many text strings.

Rizaun, maybe if you make a Hero based RPG, and if it isn't fullhouse, just spend some time having the other players as computers, healing, battling, maybe not upgrades... but yeah. Cut scenes are what it's all about.

Depending what you mean by weapon system, because few ways you can do you. U could have weapon n run around like normal, or have civilian which = hero and have weapon next him and cant leave his side while weapon is inv has no hp but civilian does.

No Mog i don't like the idea of having more than 2 units right there, cuz if the weapon has long range and its invincible it will make enemy unit to run, by weapon based, i meant pick a weapon and stick with it such as A Call For Help.

uh Call for help, you could upgrade your weapon like you have normal marine then you have like 5000 points you could upgrade it to hero marine.

I think that the best system is a battle arena, that features clear, easy to use mechanics. Both units could remain invincible, and then when its ur turn to attack, disable invincibility and perform a spell, a regular unit attack (Sword swing, Arrow, w/e). Combine that with the nice cutscenes, items, and story. That's my ideal one. I don't like seeing RPGS where combos of square and isom terrain are used, and also where everything is haphhazardly placed/bad spelling. It just ruins the game. Clear, concise text, cutscenes, battle systems, and item selection features are obviously the best way to go. Hack n' slash is more like 'I'll just attack move the whole map'. It gets boring pretty quick. With the battle arena you can create a strategic arena for your hero to fight in.

I've rambled long enough. I'll just say it's better to do single player, because it's harder to incorporate more players into the story. And whoever mentioned receiving messages from unkown players is right, that is kinda lame, it just looks bad.

I was making Diablo: Hack & Slash but gave up this screen shot from it.
For battle arena that sounds like turn based system like Faith & Destiny kinda annoying system setup sometimes because sometimes bugs happen but it really nice system if setup right.

Well, in this RPG im working is more Action than RPG and Gun based, so we won't see a Battle Arena ( sorry but i got already too many maps with Battle Arenas ) or swords, or spells, instead of spells, it'll have like abilities for each weapon, but haven't been thinking so much for it.
