1) What exactly is a .lo? I know they have something to do with overlays, but I'm not entirely sure what, and they seems to appear in various places. People also mention them periodically, so I want to know what they represent and what they do.

2) Is there any way to change a building's "footprint," i.e. how much space it takes to place it? I don't mean how much space the actual unit takes, 'cause that's easy enough to edit. I mean the number of grid square a building occupies. Can I make, for instance, a Nexus take one grid square of space? Or is this hardcoded?

1. I explained it perfectly a while back, so there's no use trying to explain it again, since I might miss something tongue.gif
QUOTE
LO* files - LO* files are used for telling each frame where the graphic is placed,
don't pay attention to their extensions, the LO* files use differant extensions
so blizzard could give a group of LO* files for the same unit the same name,
even though they're the exact same format and have the same use.

2. I've never messed with that, some people say units.dat but most say sprites.dat

1) Cool. I guess I get it.

2) I don't think it's either of those. Units.dat has actual size, but not grid squares, and I can't fidn anything about size in sprites.dat.

Well, from what I hear it's the 'Circle Size:' in sprites.dat, but I'm pretty sure it only tells the unit which entry in images.dat to use for the overlay, not the actual size.
