Yes, they should. In today's society, a girl not only should ask guys out on dates, but they should initiate any further forms of contac as well. This is because if a guy tries to even kiss a girl and she doesn't want him to the law can be thrown at him. It's not safe for guys to take chances anymore in relationships or even asking girls out because it can be considered harrassment. A girl crying "harrassment" gets a free ride in court.

This is based on my personal experiences with my friends and girlfriends. Sorry if it's cynical, but life can't always be broken down into just yes or no answers.

Kinda on sided...

Yes girls do have the upper hand in society. When you go out with a girl to movies we have to pay for 2 tickets and for any food/drinks she wants, same in a restaurant.

Why can't at least for one day it can be the other way around. I need that cause I can't go out every week cause I run out of money. You blow out 50 dollars easily on 1 restaurant and a movie.

Laziness is the key to success. Here are the rules of being lazy:

The PE teacher knows I'm very good at running (Im 5th nationwide in my category) and everytime he wants to show us something he goes(In spanish duH)
Hey go do a start so the others can see how it is, or go run 100 so they know how to move their legs, arms and head. GO run 400m so they know when to lower the velocity, do a long jump.... It's hard work

#14. If you can live without it for one day, you don't need it and you don't need to get up and get it.

#15. Make a hole in your sofa so you won't have to go to the Bathroom. Put a bag under it so when you go to sleep someone else can pick it up.

It's not so simple like that, Moose.

I had a girlfriend who threatened me after we broke up, even though everything we did together was consentual. My neighbors have both been screwed over by their wives financially, even though their wives cheated on them and initiated their respective divorces. The moment you ask a girl out she can say anything she wants, and people will believe it. If she fools around with you voluntarily, she can always decide after-the-fact that she made a mistake, and you get the short end of the stick. The girl I dated could have really screwed me over, even though she initiated much of the contact we had.

It's just a biased system. I, personally, refuse to date or even touch a girl unless I am 100% sure I can trust her. If chicks want guys to ask them out then they're going to have to accept the fact that they have to treat us fairly and with respect, and not take advantage of easily-abused laws. If a guy comes on too hard, that's another story. But the current law can be used against a guy if he even looks at a girl and she gets creeped out.

I plan to be. Watch for my name on upcoming hatemail. That is if he can rebuke it. I try to read through it so that I have enough evidence and all, but it makes me angry, so I don't get far.


and to what Nozomu said earlier about girls screaming wolf: unfortunatly, that is true. I would apologize, but sometimes it is justified.

to what beer_keg[em] said about buying stuff: yeah. When I went to prom, I bought the after prom tickets cause he wouldn't allow me to help buy the prom tickets. I guess it just matters what type of girl you are going out with. It's hard for girls to buy stuff instead of the guys, because sometimes you get an egotistical idiot who refuses to let girls help out with expenses every once in a while.

I like your way of thinking Firekame, your the type of girl that when they go to movies and stuff each pays half and thats cool.

Not like the ones i've gone out with lately i have to pay up for them and then they want pop corn but they only eat like 3 crumbs and i dont want the rest...

I feel more in control and confident if I pay for everything. And sometimes it's fun to be more traditional like that. The problems come when girls think that you're expecting something in return for paying for everything. In my case that assumption doesn't hold water, but I'm sure in other peoples' cases it can be true. So I have to agree with you that the preffered way to date someone should be that each person pays for half of everything.

I don't get money very often, so I expect to pay only for myself (depending on how expensive). Nozumu is right, that you shouldn't expect something in return for something you do. There is a fine line between "giving" and "trading", and you have to realize which one you're on.

True if i went out with a girl i'd paid if I had the money.
The other day i went to a restaurant with some frineds and everybody was paired up.
One dude had to pay for his gf's food which he and everybody else thought it was fine.
Thing is she didn't eat nothing only like 3 bites.
He wasted $15 dollars for nothing and thats what I don't like...
