i understand blocking but i dont understand sprites...could some one give me some actual examples?
A sprite is basically an image used by the game.
To place a sprite, open your editor, go to the sprite area, and place. They can be used to cover blockiness or create cool effects (e.g. the sprite used to make waterfalls). But beware, there is a limit to these wonderful things. You cannot place more than 250.

.....thanks but sprite area? what is that could i have some examples of sprites?
i know you can do cool stuff with floor turrets and stuff but what else?
Also is there a way to stack doodle dads?
Open SCMDraft or StarForge.
SCMDraft: On the left side of the screen, press the "sprites" button. There you go.
StarForge: At the top, change the layer to "Sprites Layer". There you go.
Examples of sprites: Any unit in the game, any doodad units can "hide" behind, a spayed female ferret, unit spells, fairies, british motorcycles, unit and building deaths, a type of soda, ect.
(Sorry I had fun on the definitions of sprite...)
Definition: A small graphic that can be moved independently around the screen, producing animated effects.

I couldn't have said it better myself
LOL RANTENT
nice could i have some examples of what works best?
also i have seen some effects like straight space walls insted of the jagged wall what do you use to cover that? (im using SCMdraft 2 BETA v0.6.0 #1)
man thats awsome i like the first one.....by best i mean most common
I wish Blizzard would give us a patch that increases the sprite limit tenfold because firelag sucks.
The most common use of sprites is in regular doodads.

OH WOW that gives me a great idea. In the first picture, you can actually walk into the cave. The rock sprites on top give it an illusion of a ceilling.
Just don't go overboard with them because they can cause A LOT of lag and make the game boring and laggy.
Nice Ratent! Your terrain owns
Anyway, MightyBass, instead of asking our opinion, just experiment for your own, and see what you like to do and whether you like it or not! Chances are that the majority will like it with your own experimentations, rather than our opinions. So, go ahead, experiment, like Kow said.
i got some stuff in the works how do i take screen pics? is it a down load...maby i should look first oh well...
