I'm in an advanced math class and an advanced science class, and I can't take one without the other. I also signed up for Honors English. I also am in Band. All three of those things happen in the first two hours of the day, so I will have to choose something not to take, I chose Honors English, because I could drop that, two advanced classes, or Band and I won't drop band because I am going to be in Jazz Band + Marching Band. It's all so sad. :/

So who else has had Scheduling problems in school?

egh...band messes with my schedule so MUCH

I'm taking a class from another highschool because it isn't offered at mine, but that eats up three class hours three days a week. I'm also in marching band jazz band and of course concert band. I am BARELY getting my credits done as it is!

gah!

but it's cool to be able to brag to people that I go to two highschools at once ;-)

I have scheduling problems - I'm taking eight fricking hard classes. I might not have time to play guitar for four hours a day like I want. That's a scheduling issue right there!

speaking of hard classes...
I was told that I could take AP Composition by my teacher, but she decided to withdraw me from the class at the last moment. Which made me sad.

wow...that was probably off topic. sorry...what classes are you taking that won't allow you to play the guitar, Nozomu? I thought you were at Berkley...

They're mostly music classes, but there's going to be so much homework that I will barely have time to practice. The biggest time-eaters will be Arranging 1 and Ear Training 2. Arranging is composition, plain and simple, but at the Berklee School of Music level. Word on the street is that it's at least an hour of work a night, sometimes two during exams. Ear Training was my worst subject last semester (I got a C+, but I was failing during midterms so I think I came out relatively well), so I want to spend way more time on it this semester. I'll have guitar classes and stuff, too, but I won't have the time I need to just sit down and play all night after classes. I used to just turn on one episode of Family Guy after another and play until dinner, and then play until I was tired and went to bed. Now I'm going to have to spend a lot of that time composing and singing.

ah. Well, that sucks I guess, but at least they are classes that you are mildly interested in.

I can't wait smile.gif. I love going to Berklee, it's just a ton of work.

US History last year was the biggest waste of my life. Here it is in a nutshell:
We get angry at britain. We go to war.
We get angry at ourselves. We go to war.
We get angry at the world. We go to war.
Japan Bombs Us. We go to war.
We get angry at the communists. We go to war a few times.
We decide to take matters into our own hands, make the entire world mad at us again, so we go to war.

oh yeah...great depression something something....something something...

Sounds like a boring subject and I won't be able to sleep because of the teacher(read my above post for more info).

Why don't they just eliminate US History I'd already took it in 5th grade.
I've taken Euro History, World History Twice and Puerto Rican History once and Latin History once.

Why should I Take the same history class twice, thats a 1 year waste.

I don't have my schedual, but I know something is going to go wrong and I will have to go in to get all the classes I asked for. On the other hand, it shouldn't be a hard year, because I only have two classes and the rest I take for fun! Spanish will be a censored.gif if I get the wrong teacher...

Mm.. conflict. 4 of my courses were only large enough to be on at 1 time. The times were all different luckily, but the bad thing happened when it turned out the 3 times chemistry was offered during the day were the same as 3 of those other courses. So to cut a long story short, I'm not taking advanced programming next year.

resulting in
French
English
Discrete math
Calculus (wheeee)
Physics
Chemistry
shop

i'm going in grade 12, I think that means I'm a senior in the US?

well...BACK ON TOPIC...
I got my schedule today. My school is run where all seven periods theoretically meet everyday. However, another school runs on a block schedule, which means that monday all classes meet, but tuesday only1,3,7 meet. I am taking a class at this school. Since there is a change in schedule layout, I can tell that school is going to suck.

Monday I have half of second hour off, and I get the privelage of staying after school for band pracitice til five.
Tuesday I have no off hours, and marching band again.
Wednesday I have first and second off
Thursday I have fifth off, and have marching band.
Friday I have first and second off, and usually a football game.

At first, it only seems mildly intimidating. HOWEVER, no one seems sure whether or not my Japanese class (which meets at the other school) goes half way into second hour, or if it ends five minutes after third starts. GAH

Im going to be a freshman in High School (school hasnt started yet, its still summer cuz I'm in Oregon Funding cuts w00t.gif = longer summer) but last school year my classes were:
  • Woodshop
  • P.E./ Health
  • Language Arts (Honors i think)
  • Social Studies (God I hate that class)
  • Lunch
  • Technology
  • Computers
  • Honors Math(Pre Algebra)
  • Honors Science
  • Then i rode the bus home for 25 minutes

I used to have band last last school year but I dropped it cuz it was seriosly clashing with my schedule.
