I just saw this, and personally, I thought it was a great movie. Why? It was brutal and hilarious. Oddly enough, the cheesiness of the CG snakes didn't bother me. Definitely worth watching in my opinion.

It was the only film I've ever seen that the middle of the movie invovled the audience giving a standing ovation, "I am sick of these motherfreaking snakes on this motherfreaking plane. Tie yourself down, we're openeing some windows." They ALL clapped. And clapped long.

It was brutally hilarious indeed, HolySin.

I'm going to see it today, wish me luck in evading those damn ID checkers.

I saw it yesterday. Brilliant! This is definately a film you have to see in a theater with an audience full of internet freaks. We had applause for the title sequence, the gratuitous mile high club scene, the gruesome "urination scene," and the all-too-famous tagline that Jackson delivers flawlessly in his pseudo-heroic moment with his gun as a trusty sidekick. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Oh so this isn't a horror movie? Sweet biggrin.gif

If you were being sarcastic, disregard the following...

I actually thought it was gonna be a horror/thriller film. I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a pure action flick with tons of gore, punching, shooting, tazing, and gratuitous T&A shots. Its got its cheesy predictable plotpoints at times, but that makes it all the more enjoyable.

You're right, it was crap. But its fun to watch it in a theater full of people who give standing ovations to Samuel L. Jackson, the deaths of snakes, the opening credits, and the tagline "I'm tired of these motherfreaking snakes on this motherfreaking plane!"

When you watch it alone, the effect is gone. It will suck without a large crowd of rowdy individuals.

Actually, I saw it in a fairly tame theatre, and still found it absolutely hilarious, just because it was so absurdly over the top.

I thought it was pretty dumb actually.....more of a rental movie

Same thing happened with me, a lot of the audience would shout funny possibilities and caused the rest of the audience to laugh.

It was like watching a movie with your friends, except there were 150 of you.

Everyone cheered when he said the Snake/Plane line.

I saw it on opening day and the movie was awsome! At the bathroom part my friend yelled in the movie theater "Why Jesus, why!" and every body cracked up. Everybody in my movie theater clapped at the line at the end too.

I saw it on a Sunday night because I wanted to take my brother, but I REALLY wanted to see it Saturday night, but his damn WoW raiding schedule interfered (honestly, someone make a law banning that game already). There were about 50 or so people in the audience, and about 10 or 15 of us were in on the joke. The rest of the audience was dead. It reminded me of watching a hilarious movie with your friends while your mom is sitting in the next room. It was still fun, but the dead weight took something from it.

Yeah, we had that as well. At one point, during that beginning scene in the interrogation room, the cop placed an empty can of Red Bull on the table and when Samuel L. Jackson came in one audience member said, "Oh. What is this tasty beverage?" referencing Pulp Fiction. The audience would not stop cracking up. biggrin.gif

Eddy Kim: "You don't think I've exhausted every other option!"

Answer: No...

The movie was priceless, my favorite part had to be the "%&$ing snake on the &%*ing plane" but thats everyone's favourite. I thought the bathroom scene when the guy was taking a wizz funny as hell... It was a really bad movie, story-wise, but it was funny as hell which I don't think was its intention... or something...

Actually it was supposed to be this funny. Originally it was a suspense flick but once the internet craze started, they reshot a lot of scenes to make it more humorous for the fans (like the "motherf&*#ing snakes" line and the bathroom scenes). The film company that made it even knew it was gonna be bad, but it was made for the fans as a joke.

Sounds wicked! I'd like to see it, but evidently I already saw a spoof on the trailer, which I found hilarious even thought I haven't ever saw Snakes on a Plane >.>' I can always inform you about it, but I'm afraid that if I do it without your consent, you'll get mad at me lol. I'll probably see it on the weekend.

That was easily the greatest movie ever, or at least until the Borat movie comes out. The preview for it was beyond hilarious.

I loved this movie... when I went to see it, there was a pretty good audience that applauded at a few points.

You can't take the movie too seriously or expect a literary masterpiece though.
