That does look pretty wierd. When a camera takes a picture, it exposes the film to light for a split second. The faster the speed, the less time the film is exposed, and thus, the more precise the image. That's why a crappy camera taking a shot of a bird flapping its wings or a car in motion will register blur or warping, and a good camera will capture it in an instant with no blurring. Its possible a combination of slow shutter speed and fast movement of the skateboard caused that.

If that is true, why aren't the other objects near the bend point distorted ? (some person in red in the background) ?
I say it can happen because of the construction itself - if some details were not perfectly shaped to fit eachother, they may have been holding so far, but that moment came when it was time for them to bend...
A question: Did he have some drawing on it ? Was it painted with paint ? If yes, did the paint peal off ?
