Well, I am a huge Star Wars fan. I will even defend the prequels to a certain point, but I would like to start a discussion on my favorite movie trilogy of... well, my life. Star Wars proved to not only be an influence to science fiction movies, but to the entire world's take on cinema, from sheer quality to technology. Let's face it - no other franchise has enjoyed as much popularity as Star Wars (and for good reason!). Star Wars is and quite possibly will be forever the best science fiction masterpiece. Everything from casting to scripting was executed flawlessly, and it makes for a very moving experience that captures the imagination with an unsurpassed magic that no other movie (or saga) has offered. Therefore, I first want you to write what your favorite scene from Star Wars (any of the six episodes) is and why. If you can't choose, pick two! Then, feel free to discuss anything about Star Wars, such as why this scene is awesome, or why this character is really stupid.
My personal favorite scene is from The Empire Strikes Back when Yoda lifts the X-Wing out of the water. It just captures the magic of Star Wars flawlessly when Yoda does the impossible against the backdrop of John Williams' simply amazing score (also my favorite score ever).
Oh yeah, Star Wars definitely rules. My favorite character through it all is Darth Vader. My favorite movie in the trilogy (as well as being one of my favorite movies, period) is The Empire Strikes Back. Episodes 4, 5, and 6 had just a hint of campiness and whimsy that let the viewer know that the universe wasn't taking itself TOO seriously. And even though you've only seen them onscreen for about 3 and a half hours since starting Episode 4, you feel like they're friends you can laugh with and have known for many years. That's only one of the reasons why the drama in the last half hour of Ep. 5 is extremely powerful. For as long as I can remember, I knew that Vader was Luke's father. I just wish sometimes that I had NOT known so that when I was old enough to appreciate the movies, the greatest plot twist of all time would have hit me that much harder.
Hmm.. I haven't experience StarWars in a while really. To tell you the truth, my memory's foggy. I think my favorite part was in Episode Three, where Anakin kills PadMe' by his emotions and feelings becoming too great. It's really sad because he was taken advantaged of to turn over to the dark side. He tried hard to save his wife, because of his visions, but in the process of saving his wife, he killed her. Out of context that's funny....but.....yeah.
Star wars rox0rz.
Too bad the series is over....or is it
The world may never know
