So I open the .scm and then add the chk? I can't just add the map without an MPQ directory open in the first place.

Unless I'm missing somethign here.

EDIT:
Oh figured it out. I basically named the chk "staredit\scenario.chk," which replaced the old chk file in the scm map. And it works fine now.

mac mpq2k doesn't work because of permision resons. I don't think it's made to do that any way at least the mac one.

Ok here it is: http://wg.yoshiklan.com/aaaa/UnKnownEdit.zip

But I did get it to work. When you change the saved chk's name to "staredit\scenario.chk" it will save the terrain in the scm or scx file.

At least that's how it worked for me.

No it won't work with command line interface.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DevliN on 2006-11-09 at 04:15:10
Wait, what do you mean? Are we even talking about the same thing?

I know what I'm talking about works, because I'm looking at the map right now.

Using mpq2k in termanal it doesn't work.

Oh! Okay I see. I though you were saying what I was doing wont work, as in you can't extract the chk and then add it back to the map again using the Mac version of MPQ2k.

I'm working on a jpq generator to export the map and to make a mini map.

Progress? Have you used XEdit at all yet? The fact that Macs can now do 1x1 tiles should be progress enough for us all. tongue.gif

Its Java, so theoretically PC users can use it as well - though I don't now why they would when they already have SCM Draft and StarForge.

Well, that makes little sense because it says mpq2k isn't installed correctly when ever I try op open a map and I tried various things but ya, I can't get it to work. Besides that as far as I know there really isn't a wrong way to install mpq2k.

Than theoretically you could have just used GUEdit this whole time instead of XEdit?

No, GUEdit requires MPQ2k.exe. Macs cannot run .exe files. Ian's version looks for MPQ2k.app, the Mac version.

No it doesn't. It makes perfect sense. GUEdit asks for MPQ2k.exe. It says its not installed properly because it cannot read the Mac version.
