Should I make multiple units at the beginning of the game where you can choose different units to spawn, or should i just make it so that it spawns hydras for the whole game?
I think it would be better if it just spawned hydra's to keep the game even, and last longer.
Well, if the game is called Hydra Blood, then it IS supposed to be like only hydras.....but you can make it so that players can choose between 2 different hydras. Like if you choose one it has upgraded speed and range and the other has more dmg or something...
I suggest making this map different from ling Blood. Don't make it like it's a copy made from scratch.
Make high ground, doodads like trees to allow more strategy.
Don't make a player rely on heavy massing and a few heroes or camping to get a win, make it so that you can have abilities like the following:
Kill X Numbers of Hydras
All other Hydras at X% Health
Kill All heroes
Kill All Hydras
Kill All
Kill All at location X
Make uber Hydras for yourself for X time
Upgrade your Hydras like 1 civ = 1 upg
You get Double Hydras for X Time
One or All your opponents get less hydras for X Time
Makes the game more strategic and fun and in the end less one sided if someone has a rigged strategy like in ling blood.
1. I didnt copy ling blood. the map is consisted of jungle terrain.
2. There will be ups and you can get $$ from the hero selection /w 1 civ
3. Doodads will be placed for optimal strategizing.
4. A sunken and a spore are placed on every base for anti-camping (and to prevent the cloaked sniper from destroying it

Alright then.
But I meant copying not by terrain or stuff, I meant copying by having same skills, Triggers and stuff.
It would be nice to add some other good stuff.
The heroes will have stats related to the ones on ling blood, but more balanced.
Don't put in a mass feature. That would make so much more skill needed to play a mass map with hotkeying and such, and possibly even force brain usage.
i dont think i have space to put in a mass feature! lol
But its sometimes a pain to have to select all your units and order them to attk. Especially when you have like hundreds.
In that situation use hotkeys, it's not that difficult.
No massing enables more strategy which is good it will encourage players to surround and out-flank their enemies.
Seems like the map is coming out quite good.
yeah...im not having any trouble on the map at all. Although its very, VERY small (ONLY 64x64 LOL

), I managed to fit everything in there, and still have space to add a couple of things. I still need to place doodads. I guess hotkeying would be fine, but you only have 10
