I never actually introduced myself so...
Hello. I'm a UMS mapmaker who started mapmaking around November of 2005. Shortly after playing LOTR Hero Siege, I discovered the Starcraft Campaign Editor. My first alliace was drengineerxpert because I thought I was good at mapmaking then, but all of my maps were crappy and the good maps were all protected, so I did what any noob would do: edit unprotected crappy maps and see how they worked. This is how I learned most of my triggering skills, although my terraining never developed. Then, after told by many people that my maps sucked, I changed my alliace to xmrxsiegecopx and started to search for advanced map editors.
After discovering X-tra, I made remakes of popularly made b.net maps. Sadly though, they never became popular (to name a few, they were Crash RPG Advanced and Cat $ Spider). Then, I suddenly gained an interest in the most complex of all types of UMS maps: RPGs. I began a project called Golden Knight RPG around late December after playing the map A Hero's Path RPG and expected it to be the greatest map map in b.net, though at the time, I discovered hyper triggers and needed some tutorials....
Then I came across SeN's hyper trigger tutorial, which explained in-depth how they worked and how to create them, and other tutorials such as Tuxlar's dark swarm detection tutorial. I signed up (though I didn't know about its forums at that time) and was going to submit the map when I finished it (though Lyon beat me to it), though I completely forgot about SeN and continued my work on the map.
After finishing the final quest, I wanted to unleash a v1.0 for people to see the gameplay before I actually finished the storyline (I still need to finish that though...). Unfortunately, right after I did release some debugged versions, something came up that prevented me from continuing on the map, and ultimately, lost all but one early unprotected version I backed up here on SeN, so I decided to give up on it and later worked on the second series sometime in the future. People then began ask me when I would finish the map, since the map, in its current state, had the "potential" to become a decent map. After responding that I won't update it any longer, its popularity dropped because of a lag problem I never fixed. Then I overheared a conversation on b.net about Moose's monthly contest, so I decided to enter (this is where I officially found out that SeN had a forum!).
So I worked on my map, Oceanic Depths RPG, but didn't have enough time to even balance it out, add powerups, etc. (though I probably would have made the top three if I did finish it). Before I became active on SeN, though, school finally caught up (which, I'm at risk at dropping out because of my obsession with Starcraft) and I had no time for SeN until this August....
Finally, at the worst part of my life, I became active on SeN. My current skills with mapping is mostly in triggering, as my terraining is so incredibly horrible..., and am currently finishing my map for the contest: "The Sims - Robot Warz." On a side note, I'm currently depressed, have been diagnosed with selectove mutism, overweight, at risk of dropping out of high school, and have recurring thoughts of suicide....
To sum it up, I'm a teen who accidentally discovered SeN after creating Golden Knight RPG, and am looking forward to seeing great things come out of this site. Hope my post wasn't too long.
