[center] The Seven Symbols RPG[/center]
Updated August 31st.

-=:Terrain:=-
Ash: 5% [progress]5[/progress]
Jungle: 10% [progress]10[/progress]
Twilight: 30% [progress]30[/progress]
Ice: 17% [progress]17[/progress]
Desert: 80% [progress]80[/progress]

-=Triggers=-
(In concept, will begin creation after terrain is completed.)
Saving/Loading
Saving will be done through going to a town and going to some sort of temple/beacon structure so that the save point will always be consistant.
Loading a Character will be done through a series of steps choosing numbers for a code. Various aspects of the code will stand for various aspects of the character, among entrance passwords.

Enemies
-The Enemies
(To be announced, will be different monsters for each area.)
-Tactics
C
lose range enemies will be one of four groups. Group one simply randomly attacks whichever unit is closest. Group two attacks the unit which should have the highest health at the moment. (See experience.) Group three attacks the unit with the lowest health. Group four attacks any heroes, but not hirelings.
Ranged units will be designated into one of four groups. Group one will consist of attacking units randomly. Group two will consist of attempting to gain control of high ground. Group three will try to stay in an ordered clump of attackers. Group four will be designated at trying to shoot at the farthest reach it possibly can. (Could be difficult to accomplish properly, might need fixing.)
-Spells
E
nemy Spell casters will use various spells based upon the status of the players along with the hirelings. If the players have a large amount of experience or nearing a level up, or if your players have little battle time since they left town, the computers will cast spells more often then when you reach a new level. Likewise they will cast spells less when the players have been away from town a long time or are a long way from reaching a level up.
-Bosses
T
here will be one large boss per map, along with smaller bosses for other side quests.
Ashworld Boss: You are teleported to a small island in the middle of a lava lake, there you face an unknown terror. (Not even letting you know what this one is. wink.gif )
Jungle Boss: A dragon on top of a mountain, sets nearby trees on fire, knocks you off the cliffside.
Twilight Boss: Some great lord in his castle, very spooky, opens flood gates and floods various rooms which you battle in.
Iceworld Boss: Set in a dark cave, you battle a giant beast who charges you.
Desert Boss: A giant worm that burrows in and out of walls and the ground below you.
-Interactive towns
I
f you attack and kill a member of a town in-game, that town will be against your hero whenever you revisit it, some may even post bounties on your hero, for other players to carry out.

Items
Items will be able to be picked up from fallen enemies, and may be sold at local pawn shops. Your character may or may not be able to carry the items into other worlds.
-The Items
(To be announced.)

Experience

The experience system in this will count by number of kills, as well as by how much time spent in battle. (The ammount of time in battle is determined by checking how many computer units and what difficulty those units are, are around your character.) Your hirelings will gain experience also along the same guidelines. (See hirelings.)
-Level Gains
E
ach time you gain a level you are given an increase in health, and speed, you will not upgrade weapons or armor, this may only be done by buying equipment or upgrading.

Hirelings

Your character may only have one hireling at a time, and they can be carried throughout the worlds with your character.
-Experience
H
irelings gain experience by telling how much time they have spent in proximity with enemies. They are given a counter which goes up as the number of enemies goes up, the counter also increases if the enemies are more difficult. When the counter hits certain marks, the hireling uses certain spells and items, depending on if your group is carrying the specific item or if the hireling knows the specific spell. (Example: if the hireling has been in battle for a deal of time where its health would on average be at 30% or lower, it uses a heal potion or casts heal)
-Level ups
W
hen hirelings level up, they do not increase health, but do increase speed and will gain certain spells. Hirelings can reach a maximum level of 5, but may still be able to upgrade weapons and armor.
-Spells
H
irelings will not use spells in towns, unless the town is not allied to the hero. They will use spells out of town only when they are qued to do so, which depending on the unit may be more or less often.

Potion Mixing
Might implement this.
Basically you mix various herbs or other things together to try to make your own potions. If I am to do this, I would need to implement bottles or something to carry your creations. The mixtures would either have various levels of the same ability or have unique abilities all to their own.

Weapon Crafting
Weapon crafting would be something similar where you find peices of maerial and put them together to form a new unique weapon. The weapons would be displayed as a combination of addons, arranged in a specific way to make your very personalized weapon. Each part of it may do something different, that when combined would unlock other capabilities.

Spells
-Chanting
C
hanting is a method of casting a spell. To perform a chant, simply enter a sequence of units from a gateway or other building which will be the chant. You can perform any chant that is told to you or is learned through quests, but if you attempt a chant you do not know or cannot remember and get it wrong, the wrong spell will happen, most likely with worsening effects. The level of the spell would grow stronger the higher level your character is.
-Scrolls
S
crolls would be the primary method of learning chants. You go to a store, buy a scroll, and then you may read it as many times as you need so that you may cast the spell. Spells may also be told from one player to another, but unless the player learning it has a good memory (in real life) they will most likely forget the spell before the next game they play.

-=Sounds=-
Music
Still constructing most.
Fight scene. (1+1 for each boss)
Searching/puzzle theme. (1)
Walking around theme. (1 for each level)
Town theme. (3)
And several remixes.
Noises
-Ambeint noises
S
horeline/gulls
Birds/animals
Distant rumbling/steam sounds
Occasional Dripping
Faint Wind
-Active noises
S
election (3 at least)
Talking
Announcement
Walking sound (Crunch, and a soft sound like walking on sand.)

what can i do happy.gif

You should do something like a rest feature. The more time you spend in a town, the more you are rested. When you are rested you gain double the experience from killing monsters. But the players become less rested from killing.

Hmm, that could actualy help with something I had been thinking of for a bit, thanks lil-infrerno.

TRiGGaMaSTa, right now all I'm worried about is the terrain aspect of each map. If you want I have open positions in jungle and finishing up desert. I'm still conceptualizing the trigger systems, but if you would like to help think up some spells or some other system. (Computer AI might get tricky if I try to do some of the movement ideas for the ranged units.) Just pm me if you think you need more specific choices or are planning on working on something.

I'm good at isometric terrain, but only in like small maps, because i can spend alot of time on a small area just making it look nice. I would do the terrain if you wanted; as a last resort?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2006-09-01 at 23:12:05
You can always help with concepts. (Or simply work on something else until one of the maps is ready for something other than terrain.)

UBCS: The only terrain anyones not working on at the moment is desert, which is for the most part completed, if you feel like you could do that, I can send you the map. Or if you wait a bit I'm sure there will be other openings.

Lyon: Ya moogle seems to have lots of great ideas, and has a way of inspiring me to think of even more. If I ever need more help though I'll call.

Thats more the less up to you. Either way i need to know a little more about the map. I don't mind doing terrain/writing dialog/ helping with cut scenes/ etc.

When will we find out the official team? Looking forward to this Rantent. I'd offer to do terrain but if you ask wooden what my terrain is like your bound to get a sentence with about 20 swears in it tongue.gif .

This isn't dead.
Urmom: I'm going to take a little bit longer in my part of the ice, I realized about halfway trhough making new places that the nooks were too small for some units. (Cliffs are fat.)

Lethal: We need to talk sometime.

Anyone else working on this: Talk to me?

Anyone else just reading this for fun: baaa.gif
