Out of those the only ones worth investment are PHP and Java.

ya thats true cause html is easy to learn. But css isnt that easy. Thing is i need a reference, even though i printed out like 50 pages from a book, as like photocopy and wasted prolly $5 of ink for reference and colour names w/e/w/we/e but the html book sorta can still be used as a reference. If you want a paypall thing would that be php? or java?

Either that, or if spending money is a must, the only smart way is to hire a tutor. Books wan't answer the questions you ask them.

Get a book as well as use the internet for tutorials. Everything you can get that will help you learn what you want is a plus. If you get a book, you can read it while you're on the john, while you're on a plane or a bus ride, during lunch, etc. Both are good but having both is better. This way, you get two (references) teaching you what you want to know. You get two teachers with different words, so if you don't understand one, look to the other. Having both a book or book(s) and the internet has it's advantages. This stuff that you want to learn is going to go a long way so I would put the money into it if you're really interested.

I got a book from the library a few weeks ago and im almost done it. But its not that good cause most of the books at the library are sorta old. They only got a few stuff on html, not much on php or css.

Well personally, I wouldn't spend money on the books, because there are lots of different tutorials out there so if you want something explained in a different way, you only have to go to google and search for more tuts.

EDIT: I'm also pretty good at HTML and CSS, so if you're stuck with a question, you could PM me (NOTE: I'm not on very often, so I wouldn't really rely on me).
