Why doesn't anyone make mods for macs besides campaign creations? sad.gif All the ones I've seen on SeN are .exe

Because here at SEN we like MemGraft. Sorry.

Great answer. SEN has yet to make a modding program at all.

As for your question, very few in the old community were programmers, and even fewer are today. Apart from Bahamut Zero, who made a few Mac modding programs, I don't know if there ever was someone who released Mac modding programs. Almost everyone are sadly using Windows, and the ones who use Macs rarely know how to make modding programs for Macs.

I belive that there are programs for modding MPQs for Mac that work flawless, but there certainly is no MemGraft for the latest version for macs. I belive there was one that worked a few patches back, but I'm not certain....

Unfortunately, you're pretty much on your own when it comes to Macs. Simple mods should probably be playable...

There is IceCC for Macs, but you need to compile Arsenal Zero yourself (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70068), so don't despair. MPQ2K also works under Mac IIRC, as probably does MPQDraft (it had a Mac version I think). It's not THAT bad, but since MacStarcraft went down, there was no life in the Mac wing of the modding scene.

Yeah. Most of my friends use Macs, which means they can't play my mods.

I'm pretty sure he meant mods, not modding tools ermm.gif

You can't play mods without modding tools. You need a modding tool (MPQDraft currently) to load your mod. If the author has made a convenient .exe for you, this was through a modding tool (you didn't need it, but the author did).

Without tools, no mods. If there were no tools for Mac (which there are), there would be no mods for Mac.

Yes... And that has everything to do with the other modding tools that came up ermm.gif

there are mods for mac because there is MpqDraft for mac, you just need to select the .exe as the MPQ.

BTW, great reading Ojan.

Sorry 'bout the bump, but seeing as Campaign Creations has gone down, us Mac modders and really screwed. If anyone knows of any Mac-friendly modding site, be sure to say so!

We should run some of the modding tools (ones that would work) on windows servers so MAC users can download and edit the output. biggrin.gif

Ian makes mods for MACs.

Yes I do. Look in the mac tools section for some tools. Since MPQDraft doesn't work for me I have to add the files to the Starcraft Mac Patch (Carbon).

Yeah. It seems that Mac SEMPQs don't function under panther. I have solved this problem by creating pseudo starcraft directories, by shortcutting all the larger files and just applying the patch.
