I was thinking of putting together a team to handle a enormous project. This project would take much time and a full team to successfully make the map. Below i have taken together some information about the massive Open-Rpg. Please carefully read it...
Basic Information
• Tileset
Jungle using 256x256 an isom and extended terrain mixture.
• Current Players
The total amount of players will be six.
Systems
• Shuttle System
A system which allows you to drop units from a shuttle to do/use certain things. This will be used to activate items, offer trades, etc.
• Upgrade System
An upgrade system that will consist of purchasing better equipment, armor, etc. When you become a powerful warrior, it will be vital to upgrade your army before questing across the sea to other lands.
• World Atmosphere
A system that will consist of a basic time frame, AI scripted computer players, and much more. As you openly complete quests more and more options will be available.
• Kingdom System
This system will consist of the progression of your power in the game. You may start as a young warrior and find yourself a King before the maps entirely over. Each player will work independantly and work to become ruler of all realms.
• Transportation System
As you earn money, reign over continents, and dominate enemies you will be interested in traveling to the far points of the earth. Transportation will be available to purchase with a series of random events occuring on the way, such as getting attacked by pirates or maybe encountering the water god. Purchasing better ships will give a better percentage of getting to the new continents safely.
• Quest System
There will always be quests that can be done. Sometimes winning a quest can help you out in the end, providing you with a better army, better heroes, or maybe even special items/keys. This may give you an advantage over the other players in the game.
• Army System
This system will allow you to slowly gain control over the peasants in your town. If they see you as a brave hero then perhaps they will follow you onto your quests. The more soldiers you have may come to your advantage. You will also be allowed to upgrade your sholdiers from grunts with pitchforks to such things as men with copper army, and so on.
Many more systems will be in the map, however, i was just giving a list of a few ideas i had in mind. I want to make this map entirely open. To be able to purchase better items/ships as you progress in the game. I want the map to have a true sense of "open" feeling. Such carriers as fishing and trading may be availble on the side to help make money.
All and all i want this map to have a good middle-ages tone. I want the player to be able to have hours upon hours of fun. Not only do i want a sense of freedom, but a challenge at that. Strategies may be availible for the players to come across as their experience with the map continues.
