I'd heard about this movie for years, but I only got around to seeing it recently. Let me just say I was swept away. It's such a tragic and brilliant piece of work, and has some of the most intense scenes I've ever seen in a movie. It's about 3 friends that get drafted into the Vietnam War and get themselves into some serious s***. It's a movie that rewards patience. It's 3 hours long, and it takes about an hour before the action gets going, but when it does... DAMN. The hour long opening allows you to really get to know these characters, and it makes their fates 10 times more tragic. I'm definitely considering giving this film a spot on my top 5.

Have any of you seen this movie? And if not, go rent it or something so you can come back here and talk to me about it.

I thought you were talking about one of those deer hunting PC games being made into a movie. ermm.gif

ROFL. No, look it up at IMDB. But don't go too far in or you might encounter spoilers. Gee, has NO ONE seen or heard of this movie? Eh well. You guys might be a little too young for it anyways.

I've actually heard of it, but I had just read speculation about a Starcraft movie, so my mind was kind of set into "Movies made from games" mode. I didn't connect the name with the right memory.

I've seen it (actually, I've seen more films than just about any one here, I think). It truly was amazing. And what a cast! How could you go wrong with Christopher Walken, Robert De Niro, and Meryl Streep. Come to think of it, the movie freaked me out as a kid, but once I saw it when I was older, I totally got it.

I definately recommend this film if people don't mind being depressed about post-Vietnam drama.
