Why?:
Because I do want to help people on this website in as many ways as possible, but this isn't always the case, from trying to help someone with a trigger problem, to just talking about what to put in their maps.

Reason?:
A lot of people decide not to use grammer in their sentences, and so they become hard to read, and in some cases just a waste of time to look at. The spell check is all well and good for looking at what you've written, not how you've written it.

Help?:
I'm hoping that a group of well-spoken, or typing, individuals can help those who cannot, for their own lives, write correctly. For those who just can't be bothered, please try, its better for those looking for help, asking for help, being given help, if they can read what you write, and visa versa.

Now, lets talk about this, do you think people should write correctly? Does it matter, or am i just another snobbish british no-it-all?

Yes people should care about their grammar. Sometimes it's easier to read german than to comprehend the : : that other people wrote in english.

It's OK once in a while like for me, english isn't my first language and I speak/write it pretty good.

Nah British aren't snobs, they just have more manner and are more polite than pretty much anyone else. British speak better english than Americans.

I am sad.I got a bad voice in real life so no one really underdstands me.On the forums i use bad spelling and grammer.I learned to communicate with my hands like my dad.Hey i could be used as a weapon of mass destruction.Fly me to England and you will see your island go down into the see muahahahaha.After i eat some more donuts.

YES. I hate seeing u or y as you and why. It's SOOO annoying. using your instead of you're looks ok to me because I read it and it makes sense so I have no problem with that. DON"T DO TH AT ON YOUR NEXT ENGLISH PAPER THOUGH!!!!!!

Remember that "you're" is just You Are, so that it works with a description of someone, in any form, while your, is used for talking about something which is yours, or a feature of you, from the perspective of someone else.

I like using u and other shorthand.Its easier,faster and harder to make a spelling mistakes.

and also harder for other people to read. like me.

Well you can play a game called "i am a secret agent" and u decipher,sounds fun eh lol

Well I usually try my best when typing on forums like this but in games I use stuff like u and y. Another thing that i usually do wrong is using capital I when I say I becase that word in swedish aint like that

Like 15% don't even speak/write english regulary.

If grammar is going to be the focus of this thread, you should at least spell the name of the topic correctly.

When that thread was new almost every avatar was of a kiwi. I guess the cult is dieing now.


I try to write in good grammar and spell things correctly. But there is a point where i just don't care. Can you really not understand what some one intends to say if they write "your crazy" instead of 'you're crazy". Part of the English language is the defects and the mispronunciations of everything. These words meanings have changed overtime and evolved. English is such a wide spread language new dialects are developed wherever it goes. If some one were to speak true English it would be really hard to comprehend them even for those living in Britain. Most of these differences are pronunciation, things like the word water. Technically it is pronounced “water” with a T but people in America say “wader’. I have an aunt that is Irish and when she says water pronounced with a T a lot of people don’t even know what she is saying. So the real question is should we all speak perfect English, or should we just all speak the same English?

PS. Now time for me to shut up and let the people smarter than me make me look stupid

Well it wasn't spelt wrong, but close enough.

He edited it.It was a "e" before notice he put the capital "A" instead to show where the mistake was or something.I agree with bolt.I also think todays slang or N---- talk as some of u like to call it maybe tommorows proper english lol.

I really think people should try and at least attempt to write proper English here, at least for the sake of readability. Making a few spelling errors is one thing, since we're all guilty of that one time or another. Using internet shorthand here is just plain lazy. I myself use shorthand and slang in SC, just because it's hard to type well during the middle of a frantic game. There's no excuse not to do that here. You have time, write it right.

I have a lot of problems like i think of a word coming before typing it like:

If i have so and some in the same sentance i might be think of some but typing so. So i type "som" instead of "so"

I have problems

It doesn't take 10 minutes of proof-reading to attempt proper grammar. I almost never proof-read my posts, and I think, for the most part, my spelling and such is pretty decent.
