i need a mod that makes ALL units, protoss, zerg, and terran use the flame thrower. and makes them all have a 1 cooldown time, i would do this myself but there 2 things, 1.dont have the time, got school and all, 2. im a newbie modder and not very good at it, thank you ppl, oh and send it to my hotmail, cabebabek@hotmail.com or just pm it to me as an attachment. and tell me how i can give you the 10 minerals, id give more but i dont even have 100 yet tongue.gif thanx again ppl

1) do it urself
2) google it.
we dont want to waste our time on such a time-consuming and effort-wasting idea that you have posted.
if you want to make mods, learn how to by checking the stickies.
maybe you should have taken notice of something called common sense that you musnt have (i got some info in my sig about it)

i hope i have made things clear enough to you.

lol a all flame mod would be so easy to do just copy flame and paste in them all but keeping appropriate upgrades, but i dont see why youde want something that would be so boring??

Except you have to manually edit every unit's attack animation frames, since the flames in Flamethrower is hard-drawn into the Firebat GRP.

The flame thrower has its own GRP file (flamer.grp I think) that is displayed by the iscript, doesn't it?

You can use the weapons.dat upward/forward offset properties for it, but you'd need to edit a weapon for each different unit to place it properly. Or, you can just link each Iscript attack animation to firebat's and forget about the correct placement.

Still, 10 mins is laughable, only 3-4 digit numbers speak to anyone...smile.gif

yea im sure 10 min is lauagable but considering i barely have a 100 makes fine, but i did say upwards that id change it to 50

Who cares, minerals are useless anyway.

"Hey do all this work for me and I'll give you some fake minerals!"

If you wanted it to be a different attack, it might be slightly easier, but the flamethrower one happens to be one of the hardest to make based on other people's answers.

That's right Pie_Sniper, the flame thrower image is an image overlay that is displayed by the iscript. I would try doing it the BroodKiller way if I weren't spending all my modding time on Ultimate Doom (thinking of a new name still) because that's innovative, I've never seen that done before. Plus, I think it's the fastest method to do if you have a good understanding of flingy/sprite/images/iscript.

To do it, you would of course need to look in the flamer's iscript, it's got at two commands (I think) which would not be compatible with a weapon iscript, and you might have to think about whether you want to stop the weapon flingy from moving as soon as its launched to make sure the graphic aligns properly. I know how to do that, but I'm just going to let one of you guys find that out for yourself. I have never used that effect in a mod before and I'm not using it in Ultimate Doom (according to the plan so far), so you guys would be the first to use that. Then you'd need to send the weapon flingy to its final destination to die, but of course it shouldn't be visible for this stage.

That would be fun for me because it's never been done before. But I want to work on Ultimate Doom until the due date, I don't even know if I can get it finished on time because I want to get it real perfect, so I've got to spend as much time as I can on that mod. Maybe I'll do it if I have time after.

Maybe they don't feel like the time and frustration it would take to make such a lame mod would be worth 122 minerals. I know I don't. tongue.gif The bottom line is if you want a mod, make it yourself.
