You know this is much different than Super Mario Bros.

And this game will be put in to 32 maps.

I suggest you start at world 1-1.

The maximum map height is 12.
The tutorial is 128x12.

I will make a bonus level after someone has beaten the game.

Since the scores don't carry forward to the next level,
but you can save them in a notepad.
The highest scores count.

We can even do a high-score challenge after the whole set is made.
I will have a pre-set high score of 100,000 points.

Put in high scores in all 32 stages and enter the total.
You can do that after you beat the game.

Entries cost 20 minerals. And the game ends in 12/31/07 at 11:59 EST.
20 minerals is put in to the pot.
If you're going to enter, give me 20 minerals and remind me.
And you'll be put in to the challenge.
And the player with the highest score total will win the pot of minerals.
For example, if there's 15 entrants, and the winner gets 300 minerals.

You can enter after the game has been uploaded to the DLDB.

Stay tuned for this game.

Kerrigan World is the NEW 2D Side-Scroller game for StarCraft.

You played Super Mario Bros. Right? well, this is different.

Kerrigan World is a new game and has 4 stages in each of 8 worlds (like in SMB)

Unlike in SMB when you have to stomp on enemies, you can attack them directly.
And you can use Ensnare to slow down enemies and Psi Storm for extra damage.
To jump, go right next to the black dot then use Consume to jump.
There are extra elements to the game, even the old flagpole from SMB.
And the higher you grab the pole, the more points you can get.
Points range from 250 to 5,000.

You get 50 points for defeating a zergling.
350 points for defeating a hydralisk.
600 points for defeating a mutalisk.
And so on...
You get bigger points for defeating a boss.

The only problem is, the score doesn't carry forward to the next stage.

And you have unlimited lives, so if you die, you'll have to start from the beginning of the stage.

Start with the tutorial. after all of the levels are made, you should ALWAYS start with WORLD 1-1. and I may put in warp zones. They'll take you further into the game, the later worlds are harder, so I suggest NOT taking any warp zones.

Well anyway, describe ANYTHING about this upcoming game.

GO KERRIGAN! GO KERRIGAN GO!

Remember playing Super Mario Bros?

Well this game is different.

32 stages (in production)

Newer elements.

I made a backup copy before protecting the map.

So I'll create the levels from the backup copy.

All of the maps will be protected.

I got to finish all of the maps before release.

A least you put this in its right place but you still need to use the template to smoothen things out.

Thanks PCfredz might as well I cut out that other thing in my other post.
Seeing as this is your first side scrolling have you ever had any other previous map skills (not to be offending) but the screen is always moving and you might want to change the jump option because its really annoying to use a defiler or any other unit that consumes because that just gets annoying. Replace it with a zergling or a vulture. The zergling can burrow for easy detection or the vulture moves to a certain spot in a 2x2 square.

How are you going to do that ? Also yeah use a template to make things look professional.

Maps cannot exceed 254 locations.
StarEdit cannot exceed 1650 units.
It is possible to exceed 1650 units on an editor (i.e. SCMDraft and StarForge)
By going to the master settings and setting the unit limit to 1700.
1700 units is the limit. (cannot exceed 1700 or the units past that number will be removed before the game starts)

I use a maximum height of 12 for the maps.
And having 4 stages in each of the 8 worlds.
and have features that the Mario games don't have.

The game will be coming soon...

The maps will be protected with StarForge. (final release)

And it is played like from the Mario games but better.

Different strategies between bosses.

World 1 Boss - Devouring One
Fast attacks, can be killed with 3 hits.

World 2 Boss - Hunter Killer
Ranged attacks, can be killed with 4 hits.

World 3 Boss - Kukulza
Can be killed with Psi Storm while avoiding being devoured.
Another way to kill it by attacking its heart. But don't let the 30 sec. timer reach 0 though.

World 4 Boss - Yggdrasill
Creates minions from Chrysalis, can only be killed with Psi Storm.
Watch out for defilers, they are a pain in the neck

World 5 Boss - Killer Lurker
If you attack it, it'll burrow, then use Psi storm to kill it.

World 6 Boss - Kukulza, Part II
Has a long-ranged attack. Can only be killed with Psi Storm.

World 7 Boss - Matriarch
The hydralisks are hopeless against her, she'll spawn broodlings.
If there are too many broodlings, kill them with Psi storm.
She can only be killed by the Psi storm ability.

World 8 Boss - Torrasque
His attacks do extreme damage. use ensnare to slow it down and psi storm to attack it from a distance, jump to avoid taking too much damage.
Then stomp on him to paralyze him temporarilly.
And attack it directly and quickly before he recovers.
Do enough damage to deliver the final blow and you beat the game!

That's all there is to it.

And you need StarCraft Brood War to play it.

Anything else you want to tell me?

For the air units bosses. that seems unbalanced for storming. Why not make her shapeshift into something else.

And please rather posting a post already about the top part put that in your original first post.

Assumption 1
Burrowed unit will belong to neutral/computer. When your hero move near that burrowed unit, that unit comes under your control. You can then consume it with your Infested Kerrigan. When the trigger detects that the burrowed unit is no longer there(consumed) , it moves your unit to the place you will "jump" to. Then it will respawn the burrowed unit. But this will mean that you can only jump at certain places.

Assumption 2
He's gonna put a location a burrowed unit at almost every square. When you walk onto that square, you can consume that burrowed unit. It will then move your hero 2 square(or w/e number) forward(Meaning if you're on square 2, you'll move to square 4). This will require quite a lot of trigger work of course...

Well, just wait for him to reply and we'll know.
