Yea thats why. As for the Terrain It doesnt have any eye dislocation but I don't see a waterfall thus it makes the topic very misleading. And whats the stuff? ermm.gif

Um 1.5/10 Make sure to include the actual waterfall.

For more information look at this. LOL

There is no blending present, and what you did is extremely repeditive.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jello-Jigglers on 2006-09-15 at 17:44:00
Holy crap it says wall not waterfall. Jeeze. There is a way to make that look perfect...

ADDITION:
Heres something I just made:

user posted image

There's only one blocky part, but that is easily hidden with a doodad.(when i say doodad i really mean a doodad, use one of those rock doodads right in front and it's fine smile.gif )

This took 7 minutes including uploading time. smile.gif (proof good things can be done fast if done right tongue.gif )

ADDITION:
When you want to make the highdirt next to the water, make sure to use the right transition tile, or make that first using isom(thats faster if it's an option. smile.gif ) thats all the advice i have for you.

Ty jello for noticing it doesnt say waterfall, and i have a ramp farther down but i didnt want to include it, also this is only the second time ive messed with custom terrain, so based on some stuff ive seen for begginers, this is fairly good.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2006-09-15 at 18:41:11
Heh, jello's screenshot looks pretty cool but it would still have a big tactical problem: you don't get vision from the middle dirt to the low dirt since both are at the same level for SC tongue.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jello-Jigglers on 2006-09-15 at 18:50:29
you sure?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2006-09-15 at 18:54:20
Well, low ground cliff tiles block vision for units on low ground. Units on that artificial middle ground are still over low ground for SC (since it reads the elevation from the tile properties), so the cliff tiles will block vision for them (like if they were a doodad).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lord-Omega on 2006-09-15 at 19:05:12
well thats not very easy to change and make it only effect 1 area....
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jello-Jigglers on 2006-09-15 at 19:40:03
Well, thats the trade off. What would you rather have:

1) sweet terrain with weird line of sight glitches?
or
2) Perfect and Accurate line of sight with regular isom?

1!!!

Umm...A wall? Thats kool.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Dragoon-elf on 2006-09-15 at 22:53:13
Um besides the fact that on the first height area it is extremely blocky, and the tiles don't match up, it is okay...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lynte on 2006-09-16 at 04:43:57
6/10.

Blocky in some areas...height problems (units can't see full view)...meh, average. You did well...but it's been done tons of time, and you're not really showing anything off by copying another concept.

Good job anyhow.

Well I think that sight problems like that one would be very important in a tactical/RPG/melee game, for other kind of maps it would be fine tongue.gif
