Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cayden on 2006-09-15 at 08:02:49
I would like to share with everyone one of my few last maps I was working on when i quit SC 6 months back...actually it never really got into the mapping stages. It really wasent planned much so I dont know what to really call it or what. If your wondering, yes it resembles Battlefield 2 ect...but tell me what ya think.

Starcraft Battlefield will take you to the front lines in a war between the UED (United Earth Directorate) and the ETRF (Ex-Terran Rebel Forces). Choose between 5 squad classes that include special abilities to help dominate the battlefield. Or if that isnt enough action for you, take up the Commander position, construct bases on the map, protect key positions, approve player requests such as Artillery Strike, UAV, and Mobile Spawn Point Beacons (MSPB).

Squad Player Class Information:

Engineer
Engineer's are the key to machinery issues on the battlefield. They can deploy a repair station to repair friendly vehicles nearby.

Assault
Not much is available for this tough class. Being a marine, players can gun 'em down and if thats not enough, stim's there for you to increase you're power. Assault class's dont have any specific ability since they are more of a unit-slaughter.

Medic
The medic is the one in charge of taking care of friendly soldiers on the battlefield. Once the medic use's the medic station ability, a medic station is deployed. It will heal friendly troops nearby for a period of time.

Special Forces
Special forces are the backbone of the Terran army. Capable of reinforcing the frontlines, they can even plant C4 and detonate it whenever an enemy unit/vehicle comes near it. A neat feature also allows them to cloak. SF are also a stealth class to infiltrate and eliminate key targets.

Sniper
The sniper is the recon unit of the battle. Capable of picking off enemies from afar with a single shot. They can deploy mines as part of a anti-unit defense. Sniper's tend to increase in range when they are on high land overlooking low land.

Passive abilities Information:

Artillery
Once you call in for artillery, a barrage of shells rain upon the site completly destroying anything in it's radius. The perfect thing to take out mass-enemy armor. Or even large armies and bases.

UAV
The UAV is an un-manned aerial surveillance spyplane (Un-movable Observer). It remains hidden until a detector detects it and shoots it down. The UAV provides a large survellance site once deployed.

Mobile Spawn Point Beacons (MSPB)
The MSPB serves as a mobile spawn point on the map for the teams squad players. Once placed on the map, it will remain there for 2 minutes before being disabled. But beware! The enemy can capture it and disable it before it even gets to serve as a purpose for your team.

QUOTE
Commander Class's Information:
The commander is the main player who builds a base and combats the enemy melee-style. The commander also approves requests ordered by the Squad players such as Artillery Strike, UAV support and MSPB.

The commander players of the UED and XTRF are assigned one commander unit each. If the commander is killed, the team loses including all their units and bases. If the commander is alive, the team will stay in-game. Regardless if the commander player loses all bases and buildings. One handy feature is that the additional support players spawn at the commander regardless where the commander is. A good idea is to keep the commander in a well hidden spot.

The battlefield map never got decided on, I was decided on Wake Island or something. Ayyways thats all I can say for the time being.
