That's the best I can do. sad.gif

Can anyone help me make a better high -> low platform ramp going upward?

ur right, it is hidous, first, u should use jungle terrain, has better blending, like use high jungle to blend to low jungle. it looks ok, just very blocky.

goto 2nd page of my topic, rate meh wall and stuff, jello-jigglers has a attachment thats realy good for jungle terrain.

Excuse me? Why the hell are you saying him to use jungle if he wants to use space?

Anyway Tux, I'll see what I can find. thumbup.gif

Note: do you want it to be extended-isom? ermm.gif

Bah I don't care. Just make it look good, walkable, and able to be mirrored. There's only two ramps in the map going upward, each on opposite northern sides of a raised platform.

Otherwise I'll just end up using that failure of a blend. tongue.gif

I found 1 really small blend. It's an upward corner "ramp".

Because it's so small it can also be used like this. smile.gif

I'll keep looking for something a bit different. Hope you like this though. tongue.gif

Wrong. In jungle grass is exactly the same on high/low dirt. But as you see in space low/high plating differs.

It seemed so small for me... I thought Ultralisks shouldn't fit. My bad.

It has better blending, but it doesn't look like its going down (which will probably be hard to do on space tileset).

Good, but it doesn't look like a ramp. But yeah, I can see it at least not being blocky if you cleaned it up a bit.

Just remember it's a clean ISO edge it's coming off of and not a corner of one.

This one is interesting. Still doesn't look like a ramp, but I could replace the opposite side ramps with the staircases instead and just pretend that's what one looks like from the other direction. Though as far as map balance goes it's easier to cross that one to get to the high ground than to climb a stair doodad.

Maybe I could slow down units moving across it with triggers to compensate or something, though...

A tiny bit blocky, but if you could shape it into a ramp-like thing that might be forgiveable. It at least looks like a transition, though... but still not much ramp-like, in its current form.

Ramps people, ramps! Think we're getting warmer, though.

Again, it needs a bit of a nip and tuck, but the basic concept is there. As are the tiles to fix it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tuxedo Templar on 2006-09-18 at 18:55:17
Ah. I see where you're going. It's not bad, but I'm worried that the pipe doodad thing would prevent it from mirroring properly.

Mind posting a brush?

I don't have StarForge / doesn't work on my computer, I can remake it and post the map, if you like.

obviously i used instalation sprites and some space sprites to blend it but i think it looks awsome.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Syphon on 2006-09-18 at 20:03:58
Those aren't blends. Nor are they ramps.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tuxedo Templar on 2006-09-18 at 20:05:54
Well I wouldn't mind sprites, but yeah I'd prefer tiles if possible. Or at least, tiles + sprites to better effect than that.

But now that you bring up sprites, I'm thinking I could patch my original by putting some traps over the blocky seam parts. Lemme try it real quick...
