Hey, everyone. My s/n is Veeger (obviously) but you are free to call me Andrew. I have been playing Starcraft since not long after it came out (I was about a year behind the release), though not to the extent of many of you, I'm sure. Being the oldest in a single-father household doesn't always lend one's self to as much time with video games as you would like.
In any case, I also just recently got patch 114 to finally work, so although I am on dial-up and therefore I don't get online much, when I am online at home I am often playing Starcraft, and slowly trying to master the art of playing human opponents. I must admit, however, that so far I am not impressed. Sure, it is harder to fight against a human opponent, but some of you kids just try to get the game over too darned quick. I'm not complaining because I lose a lot, don't get me wrong (there is no shame in losing, as long as you learn from your mistakes), but I complain because I don't fire up Starcraft to play three minute battles. That seems like a waste of time to me, but in any case. I'm not giving up, and I will improve. And, I look forward to meeting some friends here who I can play against in the future.
Some personal information, I am 23 years old, and have two younger sisters. I attended the Citadel for three years (before growing tired of the administration's BS, the increasingly dropping morals of the cadets, and the low-quality of the corps. in general, in terms of human decency and respect to others), and am now working, engaged, and soon to be married. I live in South Carolina, by far the best state in the Union, and with few exceptions (they are there, but are far between) I support President Bush, the troops, and all of our decisions post 9/11.
I am always up for a debate, and I can promise to be as eloquent and respectful as a human being can be. Feel free to come to me, via PM or a topic in one of the discussion forums, any time you wish to discuss something I have said and I will give you my undivided attention. You will usually find me in the Serious Discussion and Use Map Settings forums, though I might drop into the Lite Discussion forum from time to time with a joke or two. I'm also a fictional writer, so you might find me in the Creative Works area occasionally.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here, and look forward to meeting you (virtually, anyway).
Veeger
