I remember seeing in some people's warn logs (in the post your warn logs threads) that people were getting warned for putting
-(name)
at the end of their posts. I've been noticing that S.T.A.R.S-Le0n has been doing it a lot. Is this a punishable offense or not?
I think it should (I'm the only one that ever enforced it). But hey, let's just make this topic a nice vote. I say it cheats the mineral system and post count system because the extra characters might make some things that ordinarily wouldn't count pass through.
Nah, forget it for now... minerals will be wiped anyways.
(But they are technically writting out a signature with -(name)... so let's earse their sig
)
When do you think sen v5 will be out? I heard 3 - 4 weeks, is this correct?
He said 2-4 weeks in the newest news post.
I wanted to enforce it, but I never got a definitive answer...
Now I have to go seek some -namers... I'm suffering from moderatory blueballs today.
Come on people. Seriously. I love what you guys have been doing cleaning crap up and all, but as i argued with Moosey before, i think one line break and a little -name isnt much to ask for.
-Ex
That should be in your signature. If I include that image, that's a size violation. What entitles you to extra signature space?
I agree.
-Deathawk1337coolsuperdudefreemineralslolezpkdfjklasklfasjklfjklasfdjkldf
Yay. It annoys a lot of people.
I say we ban it. It's really annoying.
I say you just ban S.T.A.R.S-Le0n
I agree with everyone. The purpose of your signature space isn't meant for putting random images but for things like -Urmom.
With the same effect, I can say that we should ban Desperado. But that's not helping the topic.
Now, for the name in the end of your post. From what I know, a small sized post like this one will give you 2-4 minerals. Will "-Ex" change something? I simply do not care, as long as he doesen't type something like "-S.T.A.R.S-Le0n, leader of clan [name], creator of [name] map series. I like to write poems in my free time. Thank you for reading the post of S.T.A.R.S-Le0n"
Lol Jammed...
But you see, a line has to be drawn. If -Ex is okay... then -Jammed should be okay... and if -Jammed, then -IsolatedPurity... and pretty soon, "S.T.A.R.S-Le0n, leader of clan [name], creator of [name] map series. I like to write poems in my free time. Thank you for reading the post of S.T.A.R.S-Le0n" will be okay.
Post space is for the post...
Signature space for the signature...
Adding -(name) is a signature.
(but lol @ Deathawk, Desperado, & Jammed
)

Yeah, so you might as well always warn people "by the book". Ban all people who had double accounts (including me and Moose).
I don't see people being too insolent with little forgivings that you give.

I do though...
As far as people making double accounts... it's just retarded and has no real purpose. "I wanted my warn log cleared..." "People don't like me because I was being stupid, so I want a new name, even though I will tell people I am me." "I was being stupid in the shoutbox and got banned for a few days, I couldn't handle it..." "I wanted to trick my friends..."

I think it has to do more with post count than minerals. You have to post a certain amount of characters in order for your post to be added to your post count. Therefore if someone added a long thing like "- Mini Moose 2707" at the end, that's an extra 15 characters that go toward that post. I suppose its not that big of a deal, but...

...Deathawk now gets 1 post because of that "signature" even though his actual post was simply "I agree." I know no one has a name that long, but you get the idea.
It's not like because of minerals or post count. It's just like why the hell we support signatures lol. Add the damn -ex or w/e in your sig if it makes you happy.
Also, I know your stand IP, but I still think we sould write a post formating F.A.Q.
That would work. I also don't care about minerals or post count, but it's just annoying when a person apparently can't settle for a large signature area and insists, despite protests, to do it. It's just plain annoying, unneeded, and, of course, the minor advantages of putting that minisignature is because of the minerals or post count. That's minor, though.
I concur, a post formatting FAQ qould give me much pleasure...

And I think what's really dumb about it is that we already
know who is posting it anyway. If our usernames are never shown when we post, then it would be a nice idea to add the "- Name" at the end, but the very first thing I notice when I read responses in topics is the username of the person posting.
Yep. Everyone knows who's posting. It's like it's for spite
.
