The doom series. Always worth checking out.
SC Field Command. Not finished, but still fun. (unless you're on a mac)
36Craft is a fun one (mac playable too)

All mods are Brood War-compatible, as far as I know.

I don't think they are if you use the StarDat TBL by accident.

If you do that, they will crash only if you call on a string that does not exist (for example hovering the mouse over the 'heal' icon on a medic would cause a crash).
