simpe enough... download... proedit 1.4 hit protect and save... proedit is the best, most reliable, and safest protector out there at the time.. there is not a unprotector program and the only way someone can open ur map is if they know hex.. in which case there probably not a newb who wnats 2 make ur map a piece of crap, and besides... most ppl here (besides scorpion and a few other select people) are not map stealers (and dont ask me who these select people are)

If you protect a map, its closed unless you know how to unlock it, even to yourself? If thats so, then you'd have to make sure everything's perfect before protecting it, right?

You know, if that is the case you should make a back-up copy of your map.
And, certain protection programs like SCM Toolkit have a temporary protection but BEWARE: SCM Toolkit can be easily unprotected, unlike ProEdit.

yea i always back up before i protect... and for good reasons to... u cannot unprotect a map protected by proedit.. unless you know hex smile.gif but then agian it would just be easier 2 save a backup copy

go to the downloads section and download starfoge cause thats an editor and a decent map protector

p.s.:i think SF is the best editor out there and if you dont get the formulae for making triggers go to map making tricks and help archive look around in there sumwheer it talks about SF and how to make triggers with em

The best protector is PROEdit, SF is the best editor but its protection can be easily broke with SCU.

I don't think SCU can unprotect starforge...

I even got the SCU program downloaded for the sole purpose of testing if people can use SCU to get into my starforge protected maps.

I would have SCU for reasons like that but then I would feel dirty.

Ive had starforge for a while, but when i use its protection on a map, i cant open it in starforge anymore(lots of errors and the program crashes) but i can still open it in staredit and the X-tra editor. Thats why i wanted something else to protect my maps with, i downloaded proedit, it works great biggrin.gif
