It would seem that the "honorable" intentions supposedly behind OSMAP are not what they seem at all. TheCountChocula has been talking about using OSMAP as a weapon to harm map making clans and map making communities by specifically targetting members maps.

You might want to keep in mind that DK also loves screwing with people's heads.
Also, what someone unrelated to the makers of a program does with it does not represent the motives of the program's makers.

We're not talking about some random person here, we're talking about one of the people closest to the creaters using it for malign purposes. He is also one of it's primary supporters claiming that it can and should be used for good, but then he turns around and makes plans to do the exact opposite. His actions tarnish the whole idea of Open Source mapping.

osmap was never a good idea to start with but now that its here and we cant stop it who cares

He didn't say that exactly, he made vague statements about attacking people with it. I just wanted to hype it up so if he actually tried to do it he'd be shunned. This isn't going to work though.. so freak it.

(U) is the OSMAP crowd now.. so that's utterly illogical if I am saying things against them.


What agenda? What lies? I already said it was an effort to get this out in the open in order to belay the inevitable conclusion of making those ideas a reality. Even if he wasn't serious, it's going to happen eventually.

As for this I dont really see how this harm map making clans. I personally think OSMAP was just an invention that raised the map protection levels.

OSMAP had an intention, being to help the map community and save it as best it could. Obviously, just as much was at stake for the community to be destroyed over it. Youve seen the debate topics so i wont bore you with a long post. Its simple:

Theres nothing more we can do. OSMAP wins as long as LW denys its doing more harm then good.

I disagree. Making people feel guilty about the monsterous things they intend to do has a wonderous effect on their motivation to continue doing them. Unfrotunately not a single person here has taken this seriously enough to say "Well that would be bad I hope he doesn't do that." So not only have you wasted your words but you've practically endorsed the idea that OSMAP be used in the most aggressive, hostile way possible.


Slandering? Slander is a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report.

Where are you with supposed intellect when people are actually breaking rules. Instead you run around closing valid topics and deleting valid posts which are later unlocked or re-added by moderators more powerful than you.
