Staredit Network -> Modding Assistance -> Is there a way to transfer 256bitmap to 24bitmap?

My image editor won't open 256bitmap, that really sucks...
I have to go to paint save as, and save it to 24bitmap file.
And when you have a unit with 600 or so frames, it's going to take forever.
Is there a program or a way I can change it from 256 right to 24?

GIMP has trouble reading palettes, though. I suggest using MS Paint (unless you're on a Mac, in which case you might want Pixen, which is made for animation-game pixel art) and being careful to only paint with SC's colors. Then, you should be able to re-compile correctly.

What are you using? Paint works.

P.S. GIMP doesn't have trouble with palettes...

What kind of editor are u use?
if that not special error in editor
i think the reason why just BMP file corrupt for ur image editor

if that isn't reason why of ur editor

try use with GIMP or load other BMP(256color) file in ur editor
and copy ur picture and paste into other BMP document

then maybe that could be success

GIMP has trouble reading palettes

GIMP doesn't have trouble with palettes
if load palette should check options to make correct with 256 index color
and if need, change color set of palette by ur self

then colors will showed correctly as SC colors

i think the reason why u think like that is probably
u have not enough in 2d graphics knowledge and experienced in using many graphic Software

Anyways GIMP could make BMP file for SC graphic perpectly
