1) When i try to open a map with scm toolkit it says "Could not find chk file, "satredit\scenario.chk"". It used to work... now it dosent... WHAT THE #@%&!?
2) For some reason the downloads section on this site dosent work for me. I dont know why...
Thanks in adv'
ps: sorry for the short post im just in kind of a hurry...
make sure u have the most current, up to date chk file.. make sure its in the right directory, maybe u have 2 have it in the same file as scm toolkit..i dont know i dont use toolkit or havnt in a while
Make sure you have the MPQ files and stuff like that that's need to run it. For the downloads, well, dunno, maybe not a high enough security connection? I dunno. I doubt that matters.
I guess the file got deleated some how... i'll try downloading it again.
Hey does anyone have a link to a site other than this one where i can dl the latest versions of scm toolkit and proedit?
What problem do you have with the DLDB?
DLDB? Im just gonna assume that means downloads data base or something like that... anyway, it just gives me a html file...
Oh and i tryd redling scm toolkit and im still missing that file... what the $%#@ is it and where can i get it?
staredit chk chk should come with the starcraft staredit... (i think it is just named like that) do u have sc on that comp?
Yeah, i do have it on this comp. If it comes with sc se then i really dont know what the @#$% is wrong...
so where can i find this file?

Go to ShadowFlares, adn download the ShadowFlare Installer, then run it and install the SCM Toolkit and the Mo'Pa'Q files. That should work.

Wrong, CHK is raw data, stored in the SCM/SCX, I think there's a file that can get put into the SCM/SCX that stops it from reading the CHK.
I did that and it didnt work... apparently im missing some dll file... @#$%...

What's the DLL file called?
It didn'y specify what file i was missing, it just said that i didnt have a dll file it needed.
Thanks for the proedit dl Clokr_

After reading through this thread, I think there is some confusion over this:
QUOTE
1) When i try to open a map with scm toolkit it says "Could not find chk file, "satredit\scenario.chk"".
Starcraft maps (.SCM and .SCX files) are MPQ archives; similar to ZIP files, where there are multiple files compressed into one.
More specifically, the actual "Starcraft map" is a file named
scenario.chk. In an MPQ archive (the .SCM or .SCX file), it is located at the virtual path:
staredit\scenario.chk.
When it says it can't find this file, it's either: a) unable to find it in the archive, because it isn't in the archive or b) unable to extract it from the archive because MPQ2k is not available. Make sure you have these files in the same directory as ScmToolkit.exe:
mpq2k.exe
staredit.exe
lmpqapi.dll
storm.dll
They're all there and it still wont work...

Make sure StarEdit/StarCraft is closed. Go into SCMToolkit's options and make sure its looking for MPQ2K in the right place as well.
Now its telling me that MPQ2K isnt there... it is there... right where its looking for it...

...

Well, i'm sorry to say, you may have to just accept it and give up, although it is a very useful program, it doesn't always work on some systems, and you can use Starforge and SCMDraft 2 for just as much.
In that case i have another problem to deal with... SCMDraft 2 dosn't work either..."Faild reading primary MPQ path (Scmdraft2.ini)".

Are your Starcraft MPQs still in the folder you installed them? SCMDraft uses the registry path for SC to find them. Also SC has to be installed.
They are.

Strange then, i would just reinstall Starcraft, after removing all files containing stuff for SCMToolkit and then get it all again, that wouldn't take longer than about 30 minutes.
Oh crap! Lol, I have the same problem. I had the same problem on my mom's computer, now I'm trying to fix it on my dad's. I fixed this by following the steps at ShadowFlare's website. Stupid site has exceeded the bandwidth though. I think there is another file you can download to get it working.

! This was like the first topic i ever posted here and its on the first page?!
