After working on some melee maps and doing some mod(s) I'm getting back on my feet again and starting up map making again.

Now an idea I have is like classic arcade games.

You know like how you see those Pac-man maps or frogger maps but I have some new ideas I want to try.

Space Invaders: That classic game were you must defeat all the aliens before they come down to the bottom of the screen. My idea is that the first round is overlords and they move to the left then down, move to the left again and down.

The shooter is a tank that when unseiged it spawns a laser burst (scrouge)and goes in a straight line and can be fired as many times as you want whenever sieged. If it hits and overlord then the unit is dead.

There could be up to 5 rounds and level up weapons like if you shoot a laser at a dropship you gain a multi burst shot which shoots 3 lasers at a time and so on and so on. The last round could be a skill of accuracy like the units are fast moving ones like mutalisks.

Pinball May seem weird but I think it could be possible. The flippers can either be terran buildings (liftable) or siege tanks (siegable). The game works whenever the scrouge hits the paddles (T-building or tank) it goes off in a direction were a terran civ at the top can control the scrouge for some time untill it hits a wall. There when it hits the wall then it bounces off and comes back down. You have 3 starting lives and you gain 1 live per round. To advance you would have to score #### amount of points. There could be a total of 5 rounds.

Pixal Racing That game were normally seen on those pixal handhelds or sometimes web games were you control a race car that goes from side to side like this.

And cars come from on top and you have to avoid them. The car simtainulosly moves so it really isnt going up or down but projected like it is. There will be a side meter on the bar showing an observer on this long bar.

Then it auto moves. If your hit then you go down 2 semi bars.

Well what do you think of those ideas. Do they seem like an eye catcher?

Ya, I'm kinda halfway (indefinately) in making a space invader type map, (actually its more of the space invader map / the pixel racer one) except with more functions.

And I've had ideas for the other two.
You would need to perfect bouncing off of walls to get pinball right, and it would most likely be slow, but it is doable.
and you could do the racing one pretty easy simply using text.

I made space invaders using EUD conditions for controls and a carrier shooting system. Pity no one ever got to play it.

The Space Invaders one sounds like fun w00t.gif . Try that one first

Space Invaders has already been made many, many times, although it'd be interesting to see one with new features.

I actually had an idea to make a Missle Command game for starcraft, it would use the minimap as the main screen and a on the normal screen are the controls. the map seems possible with few changes from the orignal game
