We see a lot of RE maps today, but most of them are crap, if you ask me. You defend against waves of zombies and complete quests, that's all. I wanted to bring some action into this.

The players are split into N amound of forces. Each force controlls a place that contains resources of some type. You are surrounded by a zombie horde in the beginning of the game. So, you must defend your position and break through the zombie masses to bring your resources to other players/groups of palyers.

For example: You're in a hospital, so you must defend it, and break through the enemy horde once in a while to bring some medic packs to your allies. If you're in a weapon store, you must support your teammates with ammo.

All resources must be crucial, like medicine, ammo... can you give some other ideas?

To help your break through onece in a while, you can use viechles to crush zombies. (I already had a test map that does it: it kills enemy units in the direction that you're moving. Not just all enemy units that are near you tongue.gif )

Of course this idea has it's problems: You can play only with all the forces in-place.

Suggestions/comments? Yay or nay?

interesting. the vehicles are an absolute must, otherwsie the concept won't work. it'd jsut be too easy to link up and just hold the 'bridge'

Yay.

An Idea: Have the Hospital (if you add it) have a Helicopter pad on top for helicopters (gasp! not planes?). The helicopter(s) can only land on their designated pads and if in the air to long will fall in a big explosion. If and when you give the player the helicopter is up to you.

I can't think of any other type of resources besides ammo and medicine... pinch.gif Maybe fuel for viechles?

So if you run out of food/water your units get killed one by one?

well, raw materials would probly be for repairing barricades or something.

in addition to resources, things like the communications station and powerplant would be important to keep protected.

How about splitting medicine into the red and green herb system used in the console game, where you could combine up to three to get varied results?

You could also add "bandages" in combinaton with a vHP bleeding system, attracting zombies to attack within a certain oval-shaped zone surrounding your unit.

Have certain "heavy" weapons cut the speed of your hero in half, such as a flamethrower or shotgun, and a support item for each that temporarily nullifies this "heavy" state until it "breaks" from overuse.

Hmm.. If first some guys in a lab. would need to bring the info that they have found from some zombie corpses to the hospital so they can analyze it and make the medicine?
