Ok I rented X-men 3 on DVD and the ending left me with a question "Will a X-men four come out?" I thought X3 was the last of the trilogy, but the ending seriously left me hanging, and also left me curious.

Yes they do plan on making a number four since all the actors and actresses were willing to do so.

I thought it kinda made a pretty open ending since Magneto actually tried to move that chess piece (I have watched the movie twice, and I am still wondering if he actually moved it or not) and that "secret" scene in the ending of it.

Actually, Halle Berry said she did not want to make a fourth. So not all the actors are up for it. Oh and there's that whole Cyclops issue.

I know they're making a Wolverine spin-off with Hugh Jackman, but I don't know about a 4th film per se. If they do make a 4th, I'm going to be pissed if Brett Ratner directs it again.

Did Brett Ratner direct the fourth? I actually liked the fourth. It was all absurdly comic book action with little plot. I'm not being sarcastic, I prefer that formula for X-men.

The third you mean? Yeah, he directed it. I think the reason why I hated it so much is because I'm a HUGE fan of Bryan Singer's work (the director of 1 and 2), and he made the films seem more than just moving comic books. Brett Ratner's claim to fame was Rush Hour 2 and various cliché music videos - nothing I really liked all that much.

And on the topic of the comics, I think one major issue I had is how unlike the comic books number 3 was. Given 1 and 2 didn't follow the comics too well either, it at least didn't mix up a bunch of different plots into one setting.

And I though the introduction of Archangel was useless.

I did some reasearch and sadly yes Brett Ratner IS halfheartedly planning to make an Xmen four he said that there were going to be multiple trilogies, so I guess we'll expect another one in three years.

Its going to be strange without Storm, Phoenix, and Cyclops. I guess that's why they included Beast and Archangel in this last one, and made people like Iceman and Colossus more prevalent.

They'll probably bring in Gambit (YAY!), Jubilee (EW!), some sentinels, and probably Apocalypse.
