I need to raise $1204 dollars in the next 3 months if I want to go with my class on a trip to Washington D.C. And I want to go. Ideas, anyone? Also, I'll be sending out a letter to a bunch of people asking them for money, so if you were going to suggest that, too bad. Get thinking!

Even if I sold 100 glasses of lemonade a day until the day when the money is due, I'd still only have $600. REAL SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

Just yourself earning the money? I can't think of a way for somebody your age to make money without getting a job.

Can't you get any help from relatives, or parents..? Ask neighbors around you for some smaller amounts, it could add up, y'know. That's what I did when I needed to buy a team jersey for my school's basketball team.

You should sell chocolate and raise the price by double and say it's for fund raising and people will buy the expensive chocolate since it's to help you fund raise. Don't do this at school. (1204 is my member number wink.gif)

Whoa.... Weird.... Anyways, everyone is telling me to get a job, but I'm 13. Where exactly would I get a job?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-10-11 at 22:03:08
I wouldn't recommend getting a job as a 13 year old.. if you even can...

Can you talk to your school principal about it? Maybe he will understnad that you are in a financial situation, and can't really afford the money or something.. Not sure, but maybe something like that will work..

I really don't think that she'd pay for me, or go through the trouble of finding a sponsor or something like that. My school district is poor, which annoys me. I'm actually middle-class, but if I don't raise the money for the D.C. trip, I won't be able to snowboard this season or get stuff for Christmas tongue.gif Yes, that is the reason why I need to raise money.

You can actually call (?) chocolate companies like Mars and get fund raiser boxes... They cost a lot less so the profit is higher. You might want to talk to teachers or people who already do such things to get better information. You could then sell said candy to people in your school and go door to door.

That was really never needed. Why not be a young entrepeneur and sell stuff like lemonade, food, chocolate or work part time like a newspaper job.

You can make about 56-100 dollars a week on that job.

You won't be able to do this now, but you might be interested in refereeing league soccer for little kids. You'll have to make a few contacts, but if you can its good money.

Are you paying for the trip for the whole class, or is the $1204 just to pay for your ticket? If the former, get the rest of the class to mow lawns or something tongue.gif.

So just for you? Bummer. I wouldn't go for something like this; if I made the $1204 I would have bought myself something nice, not a few day trip that will be over and you'll have nothing to show for it except some inside knowledge on the workings of the White House.

Well, yeah, but unless you have the influence needed to assassinate Bush. Even with the information I doubt it'll work.

Here's a good idea. I based it off of my own. I live in Hamilton, and I'm 13 as well laugh.gif . We have this Ottawa trip coming up at the end of the school year (June). It's $700 to go there by school bus with my whole grade. Just don't go on the trip with your class, wait a month, and go with your family. It'll save you about $625, really. Go by train. Just ticket, hotel, food and like, 3 gifts. That'll ring you up about $120. Pretty small compaired to $1,204. I'm not going on the Ottawa trip. just going with my mom.

...But the entire point is going with my class. Well, the ones who get good grades anyway. I went to D.C. a few years ago with my family to visit my aunt, So I probably won't be seeing anything I haven't seen before. BUT, this time I'll going with friends! It'll be nice to go on a trip without my parents for once... And this time it's an 'educational experience.' tongue.gif

P.S.: Move to Hamilton, Bermuda. It's better.

I agree with this statement 101%.
However I hate all vacation trips and such. See Mt. Rushmore? Boring. Yellowstone park? Waste of time. Disney world? Suck it.
Maybe if it was outside of the USA, I would think a little different... (or hawaii/alaska).

DC isn't much to see, IMO. I live about an hour's drive (with traffic) and unless you're REALLY REALLY into museums or seeing the legal documents that founded the country, it's not that exciting. The museums can be good, but you said you've already gone. What can you get in DC that you can't elsewhere?
