AppName: sc x-tra editor base.exe AppVer: 2.5.0.8 ModName: sc x-tra editor base.exe
ModVer: 2.5.0.8 Offset: 00051fb0

This is the message I keep getting whenever I try to save a map.. I can no longer use my Xtra editor (any version of it)

I have tried reinstalling it, and sometimes it ends up in german when it says (English) at the top..

My map making options are very limitted at the moment.. so could anybody help me out or point me in the direction of a better editor?

use SCMdraft2.
or if you have to use X-tra editor, download version 2.6 instead of 2.5

I suggest to use SCMDraft2 as well. If you have used to SCXE then Draft will be less confusing than StarForge because it has a nice classic trigger editor and actually looks nice unlike SF.

Download it here.

Play around with it a little and you'll learn and love it. thumbup.gif

If you have just began mapping I dont suggest using SCMdraft because it is a bit more confusing and X-tra is way much more easier to use.

Try to download the latest version of X-tra editor. This should include all versions.

Comparing to Draft, SCXE or any other editor it looks like crap.

Use SCMDraft2.

At first, I didn't like it because of small moments like... you gotto click on the location twice to select it. But with time, I got used to it, and began using it's more powerful abilities.

Yeah but I don't get how to use the trigger editor on scmdraft 2 =/ I tried, it made absolutely no sense to me

I'm not an absolute newbie at mapmaking, I'm not a professional, but I do know what I'm doing

Get the latest version and use classic trigedit. It's similar to the one in SCXE.
