This forum is about where you can share your stories about how you came up with your username on Starcraft or this site. I use "smasher25" for all occasions but I use "Rawk_Flare" for Mapping most of the time. If your username is different from the one used on this site you can say what it is so people dont have to check your profile.
Ok for Smasher25 it was years and years ago. My first username contained both my first and last names, so I wanted to keep my name confidential so I hastily came up with a random name.
I had been listening to music by "Smash Mouth" (many of those songs are used in "Shrek") so I decided I'll be smasher, then I added the first number that came to my head just for the heck of it. I thought that account would be tempoary but whew who knew it would carry me four years? and use it to make accounts for Starcraft.org and Staredit.net
For Rawk_Flare I was seriously into trivia at that time and the top two ranking people's names started with an "Ra" so I decided for luck that I would change my name to play trivia.
I wanted a cool name so I experimented all I could with words beginning with "Ra" then I thought "rock" so I changed the "o" to an "a" making "Rawk" and it sounded awsome like hawk almost. Then I added a finishing coating trying to make a word that sounded cool, so "Flare" Came to my head so I combined these any that name became "Rawk_Flare"

These are the usernames I can remember using since 2002:
• Dino_67Team because of Dino Crisis; also my very first username.
• drengineerxpert 'cause I thought my mapping skills ruled back then.
• xmrxsiegecopx because since I used to spam tanks in melee.
• chocolate_noob to get people thinking I sucked at Battlecraft.
• strawberry_noob for similar reasons above, plus it's a good flavor.
• SSJMarine for my infatuation with DBZ maps.
• DefilerDaPlague because of Rush.
• GoldenKnight to promote Golden Knight RPG.
• Epsilonite because nobody else was using it.
There are others, but either I used them once or forgot their passwords. The username xmrxsiegecopx is the only one I've ever used universally, and sometimes drengineerxpert. Everything else is disposable.

For years my Bnet name (although I was rarely on) was JACKNTHEBOX. Cuz my first name is Jack. A couple of years ago I made the first (crapty) version of the Doodan campaigns. After that my computer crashed and I lost everything. Once I got a new one I decided to remake all of my maps and make them better. I'd been to SEN a couple of times in 2004 for mapmaking tips, but I decided to register an account incase I ever wanted to ask mapmaking questions, and to make submissions. So I named my account "Doodan" after the main character in my campaigns. After awhile, I decided to start posting for fun and here we are now, about 15 months later.

Dilophosaur7 - I loved Jurassic Park and the Dilophosaurus was one of my favorite dinosaurs from the movie. If you don't recall, it was the one that killed the fat guy from Seinfeld.

gold-DragonLord - I was young, the name had 'dragon' in it, and it had gold in it.
Silver-Dragon - I wanted a name people would remember me by and all, so I named myself 'Silver-Dragon', abbreviated in games as 'Silver'. A lot of people still know me as Silver

Centreri - I wanted a unique 'real' online name, and it works to this day - I'm probably the only Centreri on the web, easy to remember, and in my opinion sounds cool. Actually very similar to 'Artemis Entreri' from R.A. Salvatore's books, but I noticed the very close similarity after creating the name, but chose to stick with it.
Silver-Dragon - I wanted a name people would remember me by and all, so I named myself 'Silver-Dragon', abbreviated in games as 'Silver'. A lot of people still know me as Silver

donwano - My first time I used the internet it was when my brother was teaching me StarCraft back in 1998. So I needed an account, I used don, which comes from my name Donovan, and wano, which was just a part that I thought meant kind of insano or something.

DubsMcBacon - It's going to be my name when I turn 18 in 2.5 months.
Moonrocks - Since I am very, very interested in drugs I thought this one was appropriate. Moonrocks (Heroin & Crack) is the smokable version of a speedball (Heroin & Cocaine).

Kookster came from the name kookylukey. Kookylukey itself came from my email account. I got the email account in middle school cause my sister made it for me as a joke, but I used it anyway.
My game name is MaD.AddeR I would of registered it on sen, but when I first registered I was really thinking about what I liked more.

Dark_deathring: another randomname mixed with a variety of random words using to sound ominous. Since I had so many friends on my smasher25 and Rawk_Flare account I used this when i didn't want friends spamming me to come join their games.
