There is no "perfect" strategy. Each country must create it's own strategy that will suite the country specifics, the current situation in the world of warfare, and the goals that must be achieved.

I don't think many roman era generals who have had to go against today's ranged warfare. So I don't really know..

yeah strategy depends on the circumstances, terrain, weapons, armor, etc. all those factors play into the strategy.

A nice combo that could proboly win. Mass ground units with recons that deploy land mines and also spend some resources on fighter jets so they can kill bombers or long range units. After the troops move into enemy territory spend even more resources on tanks and ships and bam.

Yea about that unless your country is wealthy are has lots of resources then that will be possible.
