Not all thought out, but basicly:

You with your Effect (Defiler) cast Darkswarm to either; Damage, Kill, or Copy them.
Also you have a Dropship that is your shop, which you can buy Kill, Copy and Upgrade your Damage.

The way I have the levels set up, well there is no start or end point.
You have to kill all of them within the time limit (2 Minutes for the first level and 30 seconds added each other level (ie. LvL 7 = 5min).

Now they spawn at diffrent points of the circle, which I will show once I have a screen shot ready smile.gif

Ok theres gunnna be 10 switches (100 diffrent settings) and Im gunna have it so you have 1% chance of Kill, 9% chance of Copy, 40% chance of bigger Damage (yes I will have it rare that you do a Really big amount), and the rest (50%) goes to your 10 Damage.

Damage: Your Damage starts at 10 and you can upgrade your Damage by 5 (ie. Upgrade once now your 50% chance is 15 damage and 40% is higher then 15).
Also I will have it set that you can kill the unit if your Damage is higher then its life smile.gif

Kill: You start with a 1% chance of killing a unit automaticly, now I thought this out and when you upgrade Im only gunna add another 1% (If I added any higher people would just buy the Kill upgrade and the game would be no fun).

Copy: Now this still needs to be thought out more, but I was thinking you would copy the creature and now have that creature under your control. (ie. Cast Dark Swarm on a creature, (9% chance still) now you get one of those as a unit that defends with you. For upgrading I think its gunna be 1% also, for the fact that its too hard to keep track of all the units inside your circle (and the fact people would just spam this also...).

What does the "copy" feature do?

And do you get units that actually attack enemies, because otherwise the percentile damage seems pretty ineffective. tongue.gif

I like the lack of an ending thing. I saw that in a circular defense recently and thought it was a pretty cool idea. And then I saw it again in that crazy random defense, that I've recently become addicted to.

Ya basicly its Mind Control, but It only lasts 'till the end of the level, then the units disappears. smile.gif

ADDITION:
All I have to do is set up what creatures are gunna be spawned and the levels are all done. Then Ill work more on the Damaging portion. w0oT

Be sure to pay a lot of attention to proper balancing. I hate defense maps that are completely imbalanced (based on unit speeds, HP, and other factors), so don't make me hate this one when my expectations are already so high. biggrin.gif

Thats probably the part were Im gunna need help, im not very good at balanceing life and stuff. Kinda hard for me, but I think I got it all set up. Im thinking of using the EUD Unit Health Condition, but Ill try to stick with Regular triggers scince Blizzards likes to patch things ermm.gif

Well if you need help, I'm available. I haven't been paying much attention to the date recently so I'm racing to get my map done for the Halloween contest. But I'm sure I can take small braks to help a friend out if needed. tongue.gif

I like the terrain a lot, the simplicity is especially nice. But I think that it may look too boring for most people (because there's not much to do when you can only choose different effects and then shoot). You may want to think of a special set of effects or perhaps (though its cliché) a heroes section.

And I just noticed that the circles aren't that round. I'm sure you could add a few tiles here and there to make them near-perfect circles.

I dont think that was done yet. It seems like a really cool and original concept. Cant wait to play it
