This is what I have now. Some people complained that this doesen't really look like a Shooting-Range, so I decided to post it and ask for your assistance.

Any help would be useful.

I think you should make some kind of protection for people to go into the shooting range, else it's okay. I don't have much fantasy at the moment, but aye.
Something like a walkway close to one of the walls so people can go closer and watch the shooting from a closer range would make the shooting range more "living".
Also, this might not be much of a help, but now the shooting range is more wide than long, I think it should be the other way. Even though I have never been in a shooting range and I do not know how the futuristic ones will look like, but that's just what I find as a standard shape for a shooting range.

Else it's okay!

Covering it with open doors won't be too much of a problem.

The main part that I don't like are the targets. Does the crystal and the click sprite look like a target?

They looks more like medieval bow targets. Try putting them on the wall lol.

They would still look like medieval bow targets, just put on the wall. tongue.gif

I mean that in those old bowing movie the targets usually hang on a pile of hay or wooden tripod or something. Today it usually hangs by the low ceiling or a wall.

The crystals would represent tripods.

So just put the sprites on the wall and remove the crystals?

Try with different powerups, how does it look with a Psi Emitter or maybe a Data Disc? I think that will actually fit to the theme more, but I don't really know.

Psi-Emitter has moving parts in it... not very terget-ish. The Data Disc looks like a data disc to me...

ADDITION:
I got an idea...

What if I use the same effect as Tux did in his Rush, when you get transmissions from burrowed enemy units? That way, I'll get a click sprite in a blinking red circle. Any better? pinch.gif

Use the wall fan doodad..
I think it would work right, with a doodad.

I think that would look cool. But then you might lag it if you have tons of targets and always have that thing running.

Not bad.

Actually it could even be good for basic terrain but considering I'm no advanced terrainer and I stick with the basics... meh.

I still think you could add a bit of square terrain in there, but otherwise its pretty good.

What are you talking about? Honestly, what are you talking about? Square terrain wouldn't fit here at all. It would look unnatural, and overall crappy.

As for Jammed, I don't think that the range lines up correctly on the right side. You might want to begin by fixing that. As for the targets... I have no idea. Just experiment with different things until you find something that fits.

New version...

Hmm I didn't even see what it used to look like, so now I see why you were asking about the range. I like the new version a lot better. Good work.

The new version is much better. thumbup.gif

OK, I didn't like the sprite that was on the left (in-game it's hard to see it, but it still annoyed me), so I made another version, by connecting the table to the right wall. But the new version sucked because there were small bits of tiles that were not covered by Floor Traps (the floor traps needed different placement in the second version).

So yup, I'm leaving this one.
