I have a noob question. What is a .bak file used for?

SF doesn't create .bak files, it creates .bak.scm or .bak.scx files. This is to tell you that these are just regular scm or scx files, but they were created by SF during an auto-save (which I believe happens every 5 seconds).

The .bak file is mainly used for a backup like if u mess up u can use it as a double check so u dont have to start all over.It helps me alot
