Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> Terrain -> Making sprites un walkthrough-able

How do you make it so people can't just walk through sprites? also, you know how some people have traps over sprites? How do you do that? I cover up the back of the sprite, then on the front my traps appear behind the sprite

For like trees and stuff just use the doodad version instead of the sprite version, although you can't crowd trees like that. I don't think you can make the actual sprites solid. With the traps thing I'm not completely sure what you're talking about, I've never seen that.

In the revil forgotten story it had zerg eggs behind sprites making them "solid".

Even better, you could use P12 DTs so it's invisible smile.gif

All p12 units are visible to p1-8.

Oh, right tongue.gif forgot about that. Well do it with some unused player.

if i remember correctly there are many boxes you can check for different things in the sprites properties in starforge, one of them might be just what your looking for.
and for the dt, p9 might be best, all other (stable) extended players act mostly like p12 and you would see the dt

p9-p11 act exactly the same. sleep.gif

To clear up the confusion and the lack of knowledge about stable extended player visibility, I made all the necessary tests.
  • p9-p12 DTs are invisible to all players if preplaced in UMS map.
  • p9-p12 DTs are invisible to all players if made by trigger is UMS map.
  • p12 DTs are invisible to all players if player suffers defeat in UMS map.
  • p9-p12 burrowed units are invisible to all players if preplaced in UMS map.
  • p9-p11 burrowed units are invisible to all players if made by trigger in UMS map.
  • p12 burrowed units are visible to all players if made by trigger in UMS map.
  • p12 burrowed units are visible to all players if player suffers defeat in UMS map.
Next time, please test it before you post false information. My apologies about posting false stuff about p12 units before.

Else if you have a covering sprite, you can place terrain edges and/or unwalkable terrain under to make them "solid".

Much better, don't use sprites tongue.gif

I'm confused? Was the message "YOU SUCK" for me? Also what's the difference in the Doodad and Sprite one? The image is so crappy I can't tell..

I failed to understand too.

Could you just place a unit under the sprite of the same size?

That would work. Needs a netural player though. happy.gif

Yeah, we definetly already said that.

Lolz, I was mainly just showing in the image that you can't seen to get the units, sprite or real, to appear on top

the doodad might be a sprite, if so it will always be ontop of ground units including Floor gun trap and floor missile trap.

Looks, weird...to me. I believe I understand what you did, but it looks confusing.
