Mods...
Stay up to date on the handbook at http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=27360
Let me know if you want to switch around forums that you moderate, or if you need help with anything.

Server & v5
It isn't the greatest (still configuring and such), but it seems to be working very well now. I don't know if or when we're moving to v5, as I haven't seen IP online in the past few days. Personally, I'm all for going to v5, I was expecting to be there already at this point in time.
I'm not planning to spend more time fixing up v4. I want v5 up and running ASAP, but right now the damned thing isn't even working. Maybe I'll mess around with it if I get some time, and we won't be stuck waiting for IP.

Report
Report function... is it working?

Policy & Rules
Once v5 FAQs come back online, I may change some of the rules. I've been doing a bit of thinking on my managerial philosophies. A new baseline will be that policy is never a substitute for thought. Some of you may be expected to do independant thinking. Those with medical conditions may want to prepare in the appropriate manner. I apologize in advance. tongue.gif

It's working in a very limited fashion. Admins are recieving reports in forums with no listed moderators all forums.

Why did you cross out in? yawn.gif

Sound like pretty interesting rules.

Keep the handbook up to date I suppose...

NerdyTerdy contested a warn about distributing CD Keys, he interpretated that the rules only count for asking for them. Might wanna clear that up some. I said the warn counts due to the fact that copyrights have been around for quite some time, and just the definition of CD keys.
On that note, are members expecting us to post the regulations for all internet sites as part of our FAQ?

At first it's plain stupid to post your own cd-key to public. You can PM it or something you know.

Of course if I remember it right, then sharing cd-keys is not supported by blizzard so it's illegal. And anything illegal is banned here as far as I know.

And last, that rule as well as most other rules work in both ways. Like if you can't ask for the key, it's pretty obvious that you can't give it. lol.

It's not our responsibility if they don't know common internet rules that apply no matter where you go. If we get too carried away, reading the rules will be like reading a textbook. It's better to have the lawyer language of "including, but not limited to..." kind of rules, so that we don't get endless loop hole exploitation because we aren't thorough enough. While it doesn't EXPLICITLY say you can't post CD keys in the forums, it doesn't take much thought to figure that out if you bother to read the sticky in Misc.

Maybe the rules could use some minor rewrites, but I think it's important that they stress the use of common sense. If the user is in doubt as to wether something is legal or not, then it probably isn't.

I'd agree with Doodan, using such form of language will make it so that people don't come here whining about how we didn't specifically wrote than you can't do this on the third monday after a full moon on an even numbered day.

Can I get on Miscellaneous? I see alot of things that I want to axe there but I can't. And then report doesn't work properly.
