What I did was set the BC's weapon to MC, and change MC's cooldown to 60. Everytime the BC attacks something (regardless of who owns it or if its a building or unit) SC crashes. What am I missing?
Abbreviations (for those who don't remember):
- BC = Battle Cruiser
- MC = Mind Control
- SC = Star Craft
It's not a good idea to set spells as normal attacks and it often has terrible results. It might work better if you keep its normal weapon(s) and set their explosion to "Mind Control" in weapons.dat.
That's funny, I was about to ask the exact same question.
Since I despise anything that can't be defended against, I rarely use Mind Control, so I have little experience from this, but from what I hear, making Mind Control a normal attack is very hard/impossible. Or something.
Well I know some spells are possible (like Lockdown) so I was hoping MC would work too.
Mind control does not work well as a normal weapon. You could memgraft your BC so it has MC, then remove it's attack and set MC energy cost to whatever you want.
You should try what Lord_Agamemnon(MM) said, as in taking the ATA Laser and changing it's explosion to Mind Control, or like change it's spell to Mind Control... Or something like that. Just fool around with it a bit. And if that doesn't work, you're screwed.

Do you know which other spell are possible? Spawn Broodling.
Yes, Spawn broodling. set the cooldown to an small ammount and play it on a Fastest VS other human people for aut 5 minutes and you see how fast it reaches the sprite limit that it starts creating rock sprites that whe you see them they crash, oh anyways....QUOTE

That has nothing to do with what I was talking about
.
It's not an issue anymore anyway, I did something different.
Just for future reference, no one has ever got mind control to work as a normal attack successfully. My conclusion is that it is impossible with the modding programs that we have available to us. EzDay was right.
