Anyone watching this?

I was watching CNN and they juts announced that the Democrats will win the House of Representatives.

BOOYAH!

I seriously think Dems will have a 10+ seat majority in the House, and they may even squeak out a victory in Virginia as well. Right now they need 3 more senate seats (Virginia being one of the contested ones). With 99% of the votes in, Webb (D) has a too-close-for-comfort 3,000 vote lead (at least according to Fox News). That means that the other swing states... Missouri, Montana, Arizona, and... Tennessee need to have at least 2 go to Democrats for a Democrat majority in the Senate, which I'm praying they will get.

I live in Pennsylvania, so I'm doubly glad that we ousted Rick Santorum. Sadly, I did not get to vote because I turn 18 this coming March, but all's well that ends well!

*Edit* This is going to be an all-nighter for me!

In Wisconsin...

I voted for Democrats for Congress, that way when the Republicans win the presidency again in 2008, there will be a Democratic Congress and a Republican President. You know what that means! Everything gets vetoed and no one spends any money.

I also voted for a referendum to ban gay marriage and against a referendum to bring back the death penalty.

Hmmm... interesting. Right now the Democrats have a majority in the House and the Senate is still contested 49-49. I think they have a good chance of taking the Senate too.

to be honest I'm just glad Tancredo won in Colorado...but what the hell is this crap with Virginia?! Blue?! crap!

Pennsylvania:

Democrats took over, it's a sad day for me and my family, the liberals are celebrating though.

They won by quite a bit more then the marginal number.
I dislike either party, but Democrats seem to be the lesser of two evils. So I guess I can go cool.gif

In California, we have been primarily democratic when it comes to Congress. Governor on the other hand...

*hail Schwarzenegger*

At least I can admit I didn't vote for him and be proud.

Christ, I'm so tired.

But happy! I can sleep in now (four day weekend!).

Im disappointed that the democrats won, except for eliot spitzer. I'm republican because they are against gay marriages and stem cell research. (Mainly because they are mostly christian). The head speaker of the House of Representative is also for gay marriage and stem cell research. There is also a chance of vetoing Bush, which isnt a good idea. But they probably won't because Chenney is much more worse.

Woot I have good news for you. DEMOCRATS HAVE MORE! Granholms Governer even if the democrats are going to do nothing like they usually do it would be better than having more republicans.

Someone already posted that the democrats have more. And how is it better than having more republicans? Do you like to murder fetuses?

That depends... do you like to watch people suffer because the cures they need would require taking stem cells from barely-developed fetuses that will never grow up to become a person and are doomed to cold storage in a freezer forever?

I honestly think that if a god did exist he/she/it would not mind if we took cells from an embryo that was going to be destroyed anyways in order to save someone's life. Actually, I would think that he/she/it would probably view us as uncaring fools if we did not try to save our own.

God said not to murder. Fetuses are alive and they are human.

Even if people do get cured, I'm sure no one wants to live forever.

Yeah, I'm sure all the people out there with Lou Gehrig's Disease and other injuries/diseases would be really pissed if they got cured.

Notice only the healthy people are against stem cell research? I can't say I find too many sick ones complaining... but what do I know? The fact of the matter is that women lose eggs naturally, so why shouldn't society have the capability to use them to heal people? At the very least, I think those against stem cell research have a much harder time arguing their case than those that are against abortion, for some very obvious reasons.

Yes, the Bible said, "thou shalt not murder," but it's depressing how much more value is placed on the 2,500 dead American soldiers than the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis. Oh well, what do I know?

This is just curiosity, and I don't know if it's actually in the bible, but where does it say that fetuses are either human or have souls? I'm just wondering if it is actually in the bible or an artifact of the various decisions religious leaders have made throughout history.

Also, if I may ask, how does gay marriage hurt anyone? Marriage seems to already have been defiled by the vast amount of divorces that occur in the United States. Shouldn't we accept people for who they are, since we are all sinners, and allow people to live a life that makes people happy without hurting others? Isn't it a sin to pass judgement on who can marry and who cannot marry?

Atleast when abortion is legalized you don't have women going to alley way doctors to get their children tooken out.

Yes I watched the news when they talked about that. It is a pity that people blamed the Republican party for Bush's fallacies.

I really have no opinion about what happened on Election Day. I'm neither Republican nor Democrat; they both have good and bad qualities (but IMO I like republicans slight bit better).

But I am Glad however, that there is a change in power in Congress, because I would really like our country to do something about what's going on right now.

Democrats arent going to do anything with New Orleans because they are pro- baby killers.

I don't think New Orleans is going to be an election debate category.
