Have You Ever Used ScannerSweep?
It Looks Like Rain.... So Im Trying To Make A Rpg That Starts Out In The Rain And I Have A Idea For Another Thing Using Rain.

I don't think you can creat ScannerSweeps with triggers.

I don't think you'll get far with this idea. The computer will scan if they are being attacked by cloaked units (assuming they have a comsat with enough energy), but there are lots of problems you'll run into.

First of all, they won't constantly scan the area -- they'll wait until the effects of the previous one run out before sweeping again.

Secondly, to trigger the comsat you'll need to have cloaked units attacking each other. This tends to generate a lot of unwanted noise (like the dark templar swipe sound). You could argue that 'mute unit speech' would fix this, but it doesn't resolve the first issue.

If you want to do a rain effect, the best one I've seen to date is dabbu's 'mobile shield arc' effect. I suggest you take a look at that thread (run a search).

To create the rain effect at the beginning you could preplace some scanner sweeps for a player, or a computer. You can get the computer to scan an area if they recieve attacks by a cloaked unit, and i think it takes 15 seconds for that to wear off, at a guess.

what if the computer had vision off for himself? would it be able to consantly sweep the area even though it already did? huh.gif

thats the only way I can think of for a scanner sweep ...

would it scan again if i removed the scan?

You can remove _all_ scanner sweeps as long as you don't use a location, so then the computer would probably send one again provided it had energy. But obviously it also removes the image.

I got it

i will have 3 locations with cloaked units attacking the comp.
have a trigger move the sweep to where i want and comp will cast again.
this also takes care of sounds i dont want.
plus if i make it so scan cost nothing im in good shape.

I don't you can move Scans. They can't be brought to a location. You can use the Command condition, but not Bring for a specific location. I'm not sure if moving will work.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure you can't move Scanner Sweeps. I heard of a rain effect where marines attack burrowed units from where you can't see them. You could cloak them with Disable-Enable method or arbiters maybe. What it will do is show the bullets hitting the ground, which can kind of look like rain.

PS: Don't capitalize every word

Well, you could try it and see what happens, you cannot create them, but move them, you may be able to do that. You can move units for Player 12 can't you?
